    Awesome Tablet Better Than Ipad

I received this tablet and the keyboard and pen Friday and i absolutely love it! Its like a tablet/laptop all in one. Ive been used to using apple products but rencently have switched to microsoft just because of the open os it has and was tired of being limited by what i could do on apples os. I love the Surface Pros flip out stand. It makes it easier for setting up the device for video interviews or even watching videos. The resolution is crystal clear and makes everything sharp and easy to view. The new windows 11 os is awesome and has cleaner look and is much like windows 10. I didnt really notice any significant changes between Windows 10 & 11. The surface pro seems to handle Xbox's cloud gaming and streaming really well but is not much for actual pc gaming. The surface pro x is more for work and school based on its productivity and ease of use much lime the surface laptop 4. The quality of the surface pro x is phenominal! It has a nice screen and also 2 usb-c ports if you want to charge your phone or other devices that use the usb-c ports. Its very lightweight and durable. The battery seems to last a long time. Received this product Friday and i havent even charged it up yet. The keboard and pen are very handy as well. The keyboard magnetically snaps into place on the bottom of the device and the top slot where the pen is located also has a magnetic lock to quickly snap to the bottom part of the screen to hide the pen compartment so it doesnt fall out. This makes it usefull so you dont acidentally lose the pen and have to shell out money to buy another one. The keyboard also acts as a cover for the screen so you don't have to keep detatching and re-attaching it. I love the fact that i can detach the keyboard if i want to use it as a tablet or keep it attached to use the surface pro lime a laptop. The surface pro x is a handy device with speed, comfortatability, and productivity. Its the perfect device for home, work or school. I would definitely recommend this to any consumer looking to upgrade their existing tablet or a new tablet overall as a first time purchase. You can't beat the price for a quality product. It may cost you a little more than an ipad but its definitey work it.

Wow...I had to say this because tablets these days are a dime a dozen and the Surface Pro X demonstrates why a number of tablets have found their way into a junk drawer never to be seen again. It really is a myriad of products in one that fits a flexible style of use. If you are like me, I have a laptop, a smartphone, a tablet, a different tablet, and other various products that only do only one thing well but promise to be so much more. Since I don't game on a PC, professionally edit photos or videos, or need a computer to manage multimedia devices, the Surface Pro does everything I need quickly, efficiently, and looks good doing it. This definitely bridges the gap between a smartphone and a PC so well, that I don't feel the need to even have a laptop anymore. When needed, it handles the office duties in an ergonomic package then quickly transitions into a binge or browse tablet that goes anywhere, sets up comfortably in a bed, couch, or chair, and looks very classy doing it all. The built in stand has the perfect amount of resistance for multiple setup options and disappears seamlessly when not needed. I love that with other smart products, I can start something on the surface, transition to doing it on the PC or TV, then have it back on the Surface if desired. The compatibility was an awesome surprise that makes me feel like I finally purchased a product that will last more than a couple years and still be useable for many more. The touch screen, smart pen option, and the keyboard make it adaptable and a joy to use when sometimes you want to zoom quickly, but not have to type on a screen keyboard. It is built well, doesn't have any area that looks or feels like sacrifices were made to cut costs, and is extremely user friendly. We have spent the past 15 years getting devices for this or that while the clutter and inconvenience piles up. I can't wait to find more uses in my life to consolidate to this device and start feeling like technology doesn't need to be a mix/match of devices all with different charging cables and cords. While I will say, the power cord has a new connection I've never seen, I don't mind because I will be getting rid of so many others it will be well worth it. Do yourself a favor and pick up a Surface Pro, try out a friend or relatives, or go online and take some time to really explore everything this product has to offer because I don't think you will be disappointed anytime soon!!

This Surface came with Windows 11. Windows 11 x86 and x64 emulation helps with running more things on its ARM64 processor, but not many apps are native ARM64 yet. Most things will run in emulation, but a few things would not install via the store and said App not compatible with your processor, but were able to be installed directly with an installer program. Once example is the Xbox app, which is x64 app. I used this for streaming cloud games with my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription I already had. This worked fairly well, but would be a lot better if Xbox app had a native ARM64 version. The display is very nice, the touchscreen works well. The battery life is pretty long when mostly doing web or cloud based things. Windows 11 came pre installed and this is my first taste of Windows 11. There were a lot of Windows 11 updates and Microsoft Surface Hardware related software updates the first few days running this tablet. I like Windows 11 a lot better for tablet use than Windows 10, the interface and screen setup / hit boxes work a lot better with touch screen. Being an ARM processor, this device runs pretty cool, never getting very warm, which is a plus for mobile, it just doesn't have the processing power of a full bore Intel processor like the Surface Pro 7 or Pro 8. I like that you can charge through one of the two USB-C ports in addition to the standard Surface Connect charger it comes with. The WiFi was not updated for this 2021 tablet release and is still WiFi 5 / AC, which is a bit of a dissapointment, but is still fairly fast. I regularly get up ton450/450 speed on my Wifi 6 Mesh Router setup from my 1 gig fiber internet service. I mostly used this surface with the new keyboard and slim pen model. I think those accessories are fairly essential, the keyboard especially. This is the most versatile portable computer I have used. It offers a fairly large, high resolution screen, extremely thin and light, with a great battery life, and ways to really conserve power if you want to tweak some settings. As a tablet only, for the price, I don't think it is the best experience, but as a 2-1 with keyboard and pen, it is a real jack of all trades. I whole heartedly recommend this LTE-less model if you always have access to good Wifi or a dedicated hotspot or hotspot data from your cell phone.

I'm a huge fan of the Surface, even more than I expected. Set-up was far quicker than any of the regular laptops I've owned. The surface moves incredibly fast. It's great to be able to use my finger on the screen or use an accessory to have a keyboard. I love having that flexibility. The quality of the screen is also great - super vibrant. The only thing that could have made it better would have been if it came with an Office subscription. I recognize many folks may already have an Office subscription so that added cost might not be worth it for many customers but I think it would set the user up for a better experience. It's always disappointing when you make a big purchase and it doesn't have everything you need. Aside from that, I think this is a fantastic device and I'd recommend it to anyone.

    Lovin' My New Tablet PC

I love the new Surface Pro X. I had a surface pro 7 in the past and the new X has many great upgrades. It is lightweight and durable, the screen resolution is very vibrant, and the battery life is solid. This device lasts a lot longer, with heavy use, than my previous 7. I really like the Windows Hello facial recognition screen which allows quicker access to the desktop instead of typing in a password. Overall, everything feels a lot smoother to me and I just love the elegant design. The built-in kickstand is treat as well. This tablet is very impressive and allows for super fast web browsing. My only complaint is that the charger still remains a bit clunky.

Has Potential, Windows 11 biggest CON

This device is beautiful to use and look at. It feels premium in my hands, it's smooth, easy to use, and is perfect for your average "at home" user. However, if you plan on using this for anything professionally (or even as a student) I would avoid this one. Windows 11 is barely acceptable, but this isn't unexpected. Developers of apps need more time to make their programs compatible with Windows 11, that will come over time. The real issue is that it seems like Windows 11 eats about 4GB or ram just to function. This means you are stuck with 4GB of free RAM which is barely okay for internet usage. Microsoft went 2 steps forward with design but 1 step back with Windows 11. It's a scary sign when your own device can't handle your newest O/S.

Limited Application Use Even with Windows 11

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I brought this computer because of the hardware and screen experience, not excepting the issues with running applications that should work out of the box. Can you say "windows phone? It is the same experience: good idea but bad execution. The reason is because of the ARM64 processer. While it gives you excellent battery life and a better screen experience, it is an experiment running non-Microsoft applications. Even after I upgraded to Windows 11, which should have taken care of those issues, it was more frustrating because the problems did not show up until you run the applications. Using it for simple office or schoolwork applications; may work fine. If you want to use any graphics(lacks compatibility with graphics applications like Zwift), you will run into issues. By the way, I spent a month working with Microsoft support to get a replacement for a refurbished Surface Pro 7 or 8. Their response was the "system" would not let them do this. Now that the Pro 8 is released, I would get that instead. I predict that the Pro X will have same fate as the Windows Phone or Zune.
