Love this movie so much, it never gets old and it so quotable. I was happy to see they came out with Steelbooks for the trilogy. I will need to pick up the other 2.

The Matrix is a great film but this release is perhaps it's best to date. 4k HDR beautiful transfer of the original film that has been color corrected to look how it did in the original theatrical release. Additionally the sound includes the latest formats so you really have the full theater experience in your home without any comprise. Nice set of special features as well. I personally don't care for the cover art, but that is a very minor gripe.

Best Buy sent me a different cover than the one I ordered. Normally this would bother me but in this case the generic one they were advertising I was apprehensive about anyway. They sent me a much more interesting version of the cover for the same price. I'm way happier! (see photo)

Blu-Ray of the Matrix movie adds to the screen quality, the first of the Matrix Series. Cheering them all through the movie. Love the Effects, Story line, and Blu-Ray clarity. This one comes in a collectable Steel box case

An awesome steelbook for dirt cheap. The artwork has been updated and is much cooler. It now features a synthetic human in its pod. A must-have for someone like me who loves to transfer their 4K discs to steelbooks!

If you're into steel books this is one is something else. Never seen this artwork before. Not sure if it was an exclusive or just new but it's definitely fan service.

This Movie is a Great 4K Transfer compare to the DVD Version from 1999 and the Dolby Atmos Mix is Outstanding and can hear it from the Overheads. :)

Great surround sound for Dolby atmos. You still get those black bars but other than that it was a perfect transfer.

I imagine someday somebody will make this even better but, why wait? The story, the visuals, the sounds, the special effects just look amazing. Big time upgrade over the Blu Ray set which was great for the time. Heck the DVD was great for the time. So, the only question is are you going to wait for the box set? Not me, I'm keeping my old set and just like Alien, I'm only upgrading the first movies in both series because it's all downhill from here. A downhill trip I can make on Blu Ray upscaled just fine when the feeling strikes but, no way I want to miss all the fun of the originals in 4K. That's my plan anyway. You can make your own of course.

    The Matrix is for Real

The Matrix has stood the test of time. It seems this sci-fi flick still holds up against today's movies. I am quite sure everyone knows about the plot in the film, but what you don't know is how amazing it looks in 4k with HDR Dolby Vision. The film has outstanding pop and color saturation due to it 4k release. If you have the bluray of the Matrix, it is absolutely worth to trade up and get the 4k version. I can't say enough how much the characters and action scenes are brilliant in 4k. This is a film you will want to watch over again, if you haven't already! The Matrix was made for 4K viewing.

I purchase Matrix Revolutions and Matrix Reloaded from Best Buy Store # 807 in Hoover, Alabama on November 2, 2019. I live in Prattville, Alabama which is one hour and twenty minutes away from my house. When I opened the Matrix Revolutions 4K UltraHD + Blu-Ray + Digital copy, the Original Matrix from 1999 was in the package. I drove to the New Best Buy in Montgomery, Alabama, which is 25 minutes from my home. I was told since I purchased the movie in a different location they could not help me with the exchange. I called Best Buy in Hoover, Alabama about the issue and their basic response was, since the package has been opened there is nothing much they can do.

Very different from the previous Blu-ray I have, but a significant improvement in my opinion. Everything is significantly brighter and the color grading is far more natural (as it should be) compared to the previous over-the-top green. WB was also polite enough to port the new transfer to the 1080p Blu-ray as well, which is always a pleasant surprise. Overall, not everyone will necessarily like the new look as it changes the feel of the movie, but for me I was significantly impressed with the improvement over the previous releases.

Warner Bros. is doing 4K right, and the Matrix films look and sound great in this format. You may have to manually set the audio track to Dolby Atmos, which will play in TrueHD on receivers like mine without Atmos, and may have to adjust your TV's picture settings to Cinema for optimal video quality, but upgrading to 4K is well worth it. It would be great if there were new bonus features, but at least all existing features carry over from the Blu-Ray edition.

This movie is a hands down classic. Honestly, this 4K edition really caught me by surprise. The picture and sound is stunning. Although, the 4K may be too good to be true because there are parts to where you can see when a green screen was used, but for me personally, it enhances the experience for me. It’s cool to see how effects were handled way back when. All in all, classic movie, and definitely worth the buy for the 4K upscale and bonus content

Dolby Vision and Atmos at its finest

This movie has aged somewhat gracefully. The gritty feel of Sydney can really be seen in the Dolby Vision presentation. The movie is very dark, so the increased color palette is. It very visible. The sound is great, with no huge drop off between speech, music and action. The steelbook is worth the extra money. It is better packaging and stores more easily. It also has much more create art look instead of a movie poster for the movie.

The Matrix, 20 years after being released, remains one of the best home media audio mixes out there. Warner has taken their time and carefully avoided making the colors too green or blue as seen on previous Blu-Ray's and DVD's, and brought back most of the original audio engineers to remix this masterpiece in Dolby Atmos. The result is a must have 4K Blu-Ray, and the Steel Book steals the show with such great artwork alongside the movie itself.

So, almost everyone knows of or has seen this movie. I won't go into the details of the movie. What I will comment on is this movie somehow never made my collection so when I noticed it had been released in 4K I picked it up. From what my eyes saw I have to say the 4K version in Dolby Vision really shines. If you've never added this movie to your collection and have a 4K capable tv and player you should pick it up.

An amazing transfer that fixes many of the issues with the past 1080p transfers where they added the green tint found in the sequels into this one. Previous released were plagued by ugly green tinting, but it's less noticeable here. Of course if you want to see the film in the original glory, the only place to see it is the initial DVD release where the opening 25 minutes are heavy in blacks and blues with no green.

Great FilM, Not Crazy About Art on Steel Book

The 4K Blu-ray disc features the most high quality version of The Matrix yet. Remastered from the original film negatives, this version is incredibly sharp with deep colors and shadows and darkness do not look greyish at all. This version is also noticeably "less green" compared to the DVD and original Blu-ray releases, so it is now closer to appearing as the filmmakers intended it to. As for the steel book casing that this edition comes in, the build quality is excellent, no flimsy parts that seem like will break from opening and closing the case regularly. The art itself on the front of the cover is my main gripe. I would have preferred to get the regular case and cover art instead of this, but thus edition had a significant discount over that one at the time of my purchase.
