You have to download Origin, which needs Windows 7 or Mac to run. Totally useless.

    So Much Potential Lost

Overall, I am mixed about this game. If I don't compare it to Sims 3, then overall, it is a decent game with a lot of character and playability. It isn't as intimidating for a newcomer to the series to get started, and it definitely retains the quirkiness tone to it that defines Sims. If you are totally new to the Sims, then this game is still highly recommended. It is a hoot to see how realistically or unrealistically these Sims can behave, and what you can make them do! A lot of features were missing at launch, but since then many bugs have been fixed and improvements made though patches. Still, I can't help but feel that in many ways, this game is a step backwards, like Sims 2.5. I love the Sims 3 for two reasons. The world was kind of open map, so you can zoom around the town and see what everyone was doing, and then zero in on a house to see what was going on there. It made you feel like the overlord stalker of the town. Bwuahaha! Who is that running along the sidewalk? Where are they going? Who's in that taxi? This is no longer the case with Sims 4. The zones are back. I understand that was to help resolve the issue with loading times, which is a big problem with Sims 3, especially once you add in all the expansion packs, stuff packs, and custom content. I have all the "hundreds" of official expansions, stuff packs, and worlds for both Sims 2 and Sims 3, so I've sunk a lot of money into these games. I could almost accept the zones if it weren't for the fact that the custom color/texture option was also eliminated in The Sims 4 to also help with loading times. I LOVED THIS OPTION! I could put any texture pattern and any color(s) on any object I wanted. I mainly built and furnished houses in my game, and this was my dream come true. If I wanted every surface to be blue glass, every piece of furniture to be a certain type of rose wood, and all curtains a certain type of red fabric, so be it! Sims 4 is back to giving you a limited selection of color options per object mesh. Many of the other features lacking in Sims 4 will eventually come in the future, I'm sure, so I'm not too worried about them. However, since zones and color/textures are core game, I doubt they will be addressed unless it is done soon. Until then, I just casually play Sims 4 while keeping most of my hardcore building in the Sims 3.

Purchased this for my wife and so far she likes it. If you're a Sims fan you'll like Sims4. There are improvements compared to previous Sims, however not enough for a full price purchase, I would definitely wait for the price to come down.

I bought 2 of these games. One for each of my kids, 14 and 12. My 12 year old son loves it and plays the game daily. It was easy to install and he was up and playing in no time. Bonus, I caught them on sale for $39.99 each! Score!

    It's Takes Time

I won't lie at first I was highly disappointed in the game, so I gave it some more play time. Here is the thing, EA gave us so much freedom in sims 3 then cut it all away in an attempt to focus more on the actual sims. Yes the lack of several key features is annoying, and the loading upon loading to go anywhere is enough to make u swear in simlish but when u dig deep the game is good. The sims are hilarious this time around and there are many more social options which people tend to overlook bc the sims lack or toddlers and such. Watching sims react when they have different moods is great, they feel so much more real now! Gameplay is still the same, create a family watch them break all their things u fix them get them jobs watch them fail and grow up. Nothing has changed there. So if you are a true sims fan u will enjoy the game and overlook the negatives, it's still fun, and I feel less buggy than sims 3. Plus we all know several expansions are to come and they will add all the things missing from the base game. Overall, give it a try if u are a fan, it's fun and still the same sims we know and enjoy.

This game is really fun but after a month of playing it, it gets kind of boring. But that's just me. The thing I liked most about this game is the crazy architecture you can do. I've seen so many interesting home designs from really geometrical modern homes to Elven-esque homes. Someone even created a home to look like a dragon which was impressive. If you really enjoy the Sims games I highly recommend this

    Best Sims yet

I personally have been playing Sims since Sims 1. I know a lot of the people that have been with the game for a long time strongly dislike this game or think this game is just "okay," but I LOVE this game!! I personally think this is the best Sims game yet. I think the main reason is because it actually runs smoothly on my computer as opposed to super choppy and slow like Sims 3 & 2. For someone who doesn't have the best computer in the world this game it works greatly.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she plays it every single day. Although I don't understand why anyone would want to play a game where they have to get a job, I guess for a kid that has never had one, it seems like fun. LOL!

Sims now multitask and its great!

The first thing I notice when I started playing was just how natural all the sims interactions are now. The sit, stand, drink and eat all while having conversations. They can work out and converse or sit on the bed together and talk. It's a total reworking of the task oriented sims in the past. The old Sims games feel quickly obsolete. That being said, I appreciate the revamping of the sims, but their quickly needs to be followup to fill in the missing venues, objects, pools, etc. The world is small now, but it can grow a lot more than the Sims 3 worlds. In the sims 3 the world was limited to the single map. In the Sims 4 each expansion will be able to link to all the existing neighborhoods so you virtually have an unlimited size world. The Sims 3 was alway frustrating cause you ran out of lots so quickly. I'm giving it 4 star because even though its a bare bones base game, the change in direction has a huge amount of potential.
