Always wanted one - finally saw one during the Christmas discount at Bestbuy and got one - and it does not disappoint, top quality, sight and sound - the use as a remote control is only secondary - not very intuitive, but overall very satisfied

Phaser has both the small hand held and the gun type phaser. I've counted upwards of 15 different sound effects so far. A little difficult to program but it can be done. Do recommend it!

I can bullseye a wamprat from thirty meters, and heat up a pile o rocks for cooking it! As prop replicas go, I have found no better. As universal remote controls go well, ...it would have been better off left as a simple high quality prop replica. Sounds, lights and the ability to remove the hand-phaser from the pistol grip for authenticity harkening back to the original classic series. At $150 - it isn't for everyone.

This phaser is a perfect replica of the "hero" Phaser from the original Star Trek TV series. It is made of high quality materials including metal and composite plastic. It has weight and feels like a real Phaser. It comes disassembled in three parts (type 1 and type 2 Phasers, and the "power pack" handle) in a nice case that makes it look like the real thing. It also comes with a magnetic stand (handle is a strong magnet). The included micro USB cable plugs into the top Phaser type 1 that holds an internal lithium battery; so it works either separated or connected to the Phaser type 2 grip. In addition to 9 Phaser sound effects from the show -- including phaser overload -- it has multiple color light effects (including the clear indicator, movable sight, beam emitter and hidden dilithium crystal) and is also a wand style universal remote control. I haven't programmed the remote control functions yet; so I can't comment on that feature. It is a beautiful display piece for any fan of the original Star Trek TV series.

As a kid I grew up watching Star Trek. I always wanted a phaser but the best I could find was a model kit. Undersized and brittle it didn't last long. Later I got a toy phaser but it was just 'less' than I had hoped for. The Wand Co. Phaser is completely different than either of those. Correct in dimensions, accurate in appearance and capable of a wide range of sounds this one is awesome! Short of actually being a real phaser for understandable reasons this phaser is the very best next thing. I would highly recommend it to both collectors and cosplayers.

Not only a TV Remote but a Beautiful Hero Prop Replica! Makes every Phaser Sound and beautiful lights! Phaser 1 disconnects from the Pistol and is fully functional! A Superior Piece! Also I was a Prop Maker for the Next Generation, so I know my props!

The Wand Company's phaser is a labor of love from a company greatly focused on detail and quality (appropriate, as a co-founder of the company is an ex-engineer). The product is certainly oriented towards hardcore Trek fans, and I would argue that only such fans apply due to its price and popular, yet niche appeal. Though expensive, the phaser is reasonably-priced for what is provided. The product is display-grade, but can be used for cosplay and of course, as a universal remote. I found it's best suited for display and cosplay, as the gesture-based remote control is impractical beyond all but the most singular inputs (volume control is sluggish, as each volume level requires remote input & cannot be held down for rapid level change). Ultimately, I whole-heartedly recommend this product, as I too am a hardcore and lifelong Star Trek fan. It serves as a lovely display piece in my living room where it can be admired, occasionally used for conversation and turn my home theater electronics on and off when the desire strikes.

What an awesome Star Trek Phaser, With a very professional pistol case with the best foam insert which looks very realistic. Nice feel of Weight, awesome electronic sounds, and the vibration in unit when fired in FX mode was nice touch along with the etched magnetic stand it makes the perfect display setup for that diehard Star Trek Fan. Worth the wait for a very realistic copy of the Phaser without paying thousands for custom made ones. Cons Had to wait 50 years for this, LOL Volume could be a bit louder esp for the self-destruct mode, It does have 0-9 volume control other wise it will not disappoint.

At first I was hesitant to shell out $150 + tax for a "toy." But this is no toy. It's got heft and weight behind it, plus it's a fully functional remote. Additionally, whoever designed and crafted this must have been Star Trek fans, because it truly looks and feels gorgeous in one's hand. Big shoutout to the manufacturing company. Thank you for keeping Star Trek Alive.

This is a great prop, or replica of the Star Trek TOS phaser! It's made with mixture of rubber, plastic and metal components. The phaser and the case has a sturdy look and feel. Both are high quality and you can tell someone or a team gave this product a lot of thoughts and planning. Also I got it on sale around Christmas time in 2017/New Year 2018 so it was a bargain ! I ended up buying 2 Wand phaser a 1 Wand communicator. I'm not using it as a remote control, but as a prop. I wish the battery could be taken out easily. Wand claims the battery will last the life of the product (or expected time that most people keep the prop) from the Wand website " The power cell in the Phaser I cannot be changed and will last the lifetime of the product." oh, well, it still an excellent replica. I hope Wand makes the Star Trek Discovery phaser next or the TOS tricoder. Another company is already making the STD phaser but it is kind of pricey compared to the Wand TOS phaser.

Much like the Communicator from The Wand Company, the Star Trek Phaser is a beautiful piece crafted from apparently quality materials with impressive build quality. The pistol grip is quite heavy and made with with metal, somewhat resembling a magazine from like a Glock or something. The metal "cooling fins" around the rear of the pistol body are also made of metal, and they feel almost silky. Every piece on the Phaser seems to be better than it has to be, and even the plastic seems to be of high quality. You can use either the smaller Type 1 Phaser by itself or plus it into the pistol body to be used as a combined Type 2 unit, and it charges using a standard cord for a Droid smartphone. I haven't actually used it as a TV remote, so I can't really comment on that aspect of the device. But it has 10 different Phaser sounds from The Original Series, including the overload function. It also has a vibration feature built into it, so the Phaser gently vibrates when "blasting" stuff. I sure wish I'd had one of these when I was a kid.

I really spent some time considering purchasing this product because of the price point. However, after reading reviews and watching videos about it, I took the plunge. It is a spot-on replica of a TOS Phaser with appropriate weight. It produces high quality sounds of different types of Phasers and other Star Trek TOS Sound Effects. In addition to being a quality prop, it is also a remote control. But, I can't really speak to how that works because I had no desire to use this as a remote. Instead, it is on display on top of the magnetic stand that holds the Prop firmly. Overall, I am really happy about the purchase. It was one of those "because it make me smile" types of purchases. There are other Phaser replicas, but this one not only has the look, but the weight and feel of what I imagined it would.

When my husband saw this...he HAD to have it! You see he's a Trekkie, need I say more! :-) It stands all by it self in the corner of our great room. I think he's contemplating putting a spot light on it. (He's like that sometimes) this was a great find at Best Buy...always!!

I got this on a clearance- still expensive for a "toy" but hey I've got lightsabers on the wall too so why not serve both fandoms. The Phaser II has a good feel, fair amount of metal. Phaser I is pretty plasticy, but decent. Sound effects and lights are spot-on; even has an overload/explode mode. Haven't tried any remote functions yet; I don't anticipate it being that useful. Stand is very basic and elegant. I keep it displayed right next to me on the couch so I can blast when the mood arises.

This is amazing! It's very authentic, and made well. The stand is magnetic, so it's easy to pick up and play with. The sounds are very cool, and authentic to the show. It also lights up when being fired. I would not buy it just for the remote feature. The tv remote feature is very complicated and difficult to set up. However, the remote feature is not the reason why fans are buying this. They're buying this because it's the best replica out there. Trust me, you'll love it!

After purchasing the Wand Company communicator and discovering the quality of manufacture, I just had to have the phaser also. This is an amazing product! The quality of build is great. It looks exactly like the phaser seen in the original Star Trek series. The sounds effects have great quality and are amazingly accurate. I would buy again if given the chance. Definitely satisfies my inner nerd. If you're a Star Trek fan, you must have this phaser!

Been wanting a replica since I was a kid, but the only option back then was a plastic model that wasn't accurate. It was light and the grip always separated from the phaser body. This Wand phaser is awesome in every way! I don't even use it as a remote; just for display. Great carrying box too. Perfect for any Trekkie!

Bought this on a whim. Figured if it was super dumb I'd return it. It's supposed to be a tv remote, and it may be but I just use it as a toy. Makes perfect phaser sounds. It's made of metal so it feels right in the hand. It's a conversation piece for sure. I think it's cool. Came in a great case too.
