The Witcher has so much content. There is so much left to do in the game for me and I have already put a lot of time into it. The themes are fairly adult, hence the M rating, but it's really quite a game for anyone. If you love a good story, well, there are hundreds in this game.

I don't think you'll find a better choice in the "get what you pay for" department. The world of The Witcher 3 is vast beyond belief. There are hundreds of optional side quests, all with different effects on the main storyline depending on the choices you make (or don't make). The storytelling in this game is fantastic, and the characters are wonderfully designed and acted. Do know, however, that there is no lack of violence and language. The game also doesn't shy away from nudity.

The Witcher III is quite possibly one of the best open world role playing games ever made. Geralt of Rivia is such a fascinating character, and Witcher III really dives deep! The free next-generation upgrade for PS5 adds incredible visual and framerate improvements. Highly recommend!

Graphics are beauiful and takes forever to get through the story not even adding all side quests. What's even better is being able to download multiple add ons to increase side quests and new outfits for characters. From slaying monsters and evil men to investigating situations while you choose your reactions. I'll say this is a well thought out and entertaining game you'll be hooked on.

If you love open world RPGs you will be in love with The Witcher 3! What's amazed me so far is just how realized the world and characters are. Just the side quests alone are better than most main story lines in many games. So many choices, over 30 different endings, excellent gameplay, unbelievable soundtrack, and stunning graphics! Just walking or riding the countryside has great visuals. Only certain NPCs have interactions with main character. Story is engaging but character can leave story and make some of their own story in traveling around.

I haven't had this much fun running around a virtual world, since leaving Skyrim. Witcher hasn't been as buggy as Skyrim was on the PS3, but then I platinumed Skyrim, and still have some things to do in Witcher. It's not without problems though, and definitely needs some fine tuning, a good deal of it in fact. But, no game breakers so far. The worst I've encountered is one error that caused the system to send a report to Sony. So save often! I've also found in my travels more than a fair number of apparent glitches: traveling merchants who you can't buy from, character progressions that you can't highlight, so you can't tell what you're doing on the screen (this happens a lot actually), clues and other objects that don't highlight as they should with L2, lots of items that won't open, until you reposition yourself, even though the "x" is clearly visible on the screen, people floating in mid-air, having to miss your target with the bow to actually hit it, the usual stuff from poor testing... But, again, it's been easily playable for the most part. That is, unless you start off on the hardest difficulty, which I found to be a little too challenging. I typically like harder levels in most games, and never play below normal. But this game is just too long for such to be enjoyable. Even on "easy", I find my character dying on occasion, from monsters that are well beyond my level, or even from seemingly simple jumps/falls of only about 10 feet. On the hardest difficulty, the very first group of monsters you encounter took me about 15 tries to beat, made more frustrating by the 20 minutes of dialogue you have to multi-skip through each and every time, right before the encounter - they should have put more thought into the auto-saves. But after about 10 tries against the first Griffin, and seeing that it's health bar was barely touched, I decided hard wasn't going to happen with this game, unless I really, really liked it so much, I wanted to play it again at some point. In further comparisons to Skyrim, Witcher doesn't have near the character building that Skyrim offers. For good and bad, upgrading your weapons, abilities, and armor is more simplified. Meaning Witcher is more limiting on what you have control over and how/where you can control things, but that also tends to leave you more time for actual gameplay rather than character development. Unlike Skyrim, you can't fast travel from wherever you're standing, only from pre-selected sign posts and stone markers, unless you're on a boat. This ads greatly to the unnecessary running around you have to do. The graphics are much improved from my time in Skyrim, as it should be. Not as vastly superior as some PS4 games, but a little higher quality than the best of the PS3 generation and MUCH more stable, with far less redundancy in locations and character appearance. I also miss the ability to switch perspective between third and first from time to time. But I think most games are better in third person anyway, and this one doesn't feel overly limited by it. Nor have run across much occasion where my view was impeded by a poor camera angle. The game ads some unnecessary language that seems very out of place, and has a pornographic element that might really catch you off guard for a video game of this sort. So parents beware, there's more to potentially objectionably here than mere videogame violence and gore. With all that in mind, I would recommend the game to adults, who enjoy such open-world RPGs as Skyrim.

A quick review of The Witcher 3. This is a true Current Gen experience. An open world of epic scope. Your progress in this game depends on how you tackle the minutia of mission varieties. It's almost impossible to truck through this game without being side tracked in some form or fashion. While some missions do seem fetch questy, the situations you get in make each one feel different. If it's not playing cards with a trans gendered man, its assisting a mis carried fetus ghost to find its peace in death. Like I staged before, this game is epic in scope. At first glance, the game doesn't look that far ahead of a last generation game graphically. Then you notice the weather chNges, wind blows from different directions, trees and shrubbery sway, the lighting and shadows are almost perfect, and the massive amount of naked women in the game also impress. This game has mini map but encourages you to turn it off. Every location is explained with directions by the games thousands of NPC's. Give it a try and you will be surprised by how manageable it is to find places using sun/moonlight, or finding water by walking towards the wind or following deer to a stream. The developer wants you as the gamer to use your 6th/witched sense. It is different than any other open world RPG based solely on the fact that there are so many NPC characters that have real problems in this world in need of your help. All.most everything you do has a butterfly effect that ripples through the worlds programming. Kill a spy and 30 hours later a group of assailants come for revenge. You will forget why, but the lead thug will tell you. From footprints in the snow to the great Tress effects on peoples heads, beards and animals. The more I play I get more impressed by everything this game has to offer. Most games degress as you go along, but this ones different. Don't ask me about the addictive card game "Gwent." I have spent weeks compiling a super deck of rare powerful cards to which I can compete with the best Gwent players in this world. My only knock about this game is that its scope and length of play may not cater to everyone. It is a game that requires a slow schlog. Its a vacation fantasy world. A video game that will give you a vacation from other video games. Im 50 hours in and am looking forward to another 50.

This game is amazing and pushes the limits of the next gen systems. Huge open worlds, compelling story, challenging combat that requires thought, and morally grey adult choices instead of the usual good or evil binary choices most games present. Excellent game for adults and would recommend to any open world RPG fans. Would not recommend for children due to adult themes, difficulty, and graphic violence.

I've played many RPGs and ARPGs that claimed to be "open world." Many games claim to have gameplay decisions that affect the game world. Fallout 3 and New Vegas (to a lesser extent) did a great job of making you feel like you actually affected how the world worked, but Witcher 3 takes it to a new level. I beat up some rowdy thugs early in the game, and several hours of gameplay later, a witness called me out in public when I was in a major city. Little details like this really immerse you in the game. Controls: This is where I have to dock some points off. For such a great success in creating a gameworld that sucks you in, clunky controls aggravated me all too often. Geralt is a complete B-A casting signs, destroying mythical creatures with bombs, swords, and potions, but... he dies because he can't make a sharp left turn and thus falls of a ledge. Again. and again. Not the worst controls I've seen in a game, but definitely mars what would be an otherwise flawless experience. Despite the clunky controls, the story and flexibility of the game are more than worth the cost of admission. Highly recommend.

First off - I am only a few hours into the game but it is great so far. It looks gorgeous and controls well. The story has been entertaining and the combat Is fun. One of the few games where traveling on horse between missions is a joy instead of a chore....there is so much to look at. So far, definitely worth the wait.

A great game by CD Projekt Red. Great story, gameplay, and world to explore. Lots of content to keep you busy. Easily a 200+ hour game if you try to do everything. Even though it is the 3rd game in the series, you don't have to have played any of the other games, or read the books to understand. Very newcomer friendly.

And not just any kind of mediocre story most RPGs have these days, but one that actually grabs the players attention from the start. I've spent about 20-25 hour in the game so far and haven't even reached 1/3 of the main storyline based on the progress of other users. But so far the main story is amazing as well as the sidequests, the setting is amazing, characters and voice acting, music, alchemy, weapon and armor crafting, hunting/contracts, etc. The only few gripes I have is the camera angle, somewhat of a slow combat, and a few glitches. Good news is that CD Projekt Red is currently working on patches for the console versions... they've already pushed out 2 patches for the PC version after 5-6 days the game released. This game is "mostly" open world but in the sense of Dragon Age Inquisition where they have zones, but the areas in Witcher 3 combined are much bigger than GTA V and definitely bigger than Skyrim. But overall its a great RPG so far and it hasn't lost its tempo since I've picked it up on release day.

The game itself has a great range of things to do. You can go from the main quest to side quests, you can collect things for alchemy or for your armoire, etc. Level and mastering wise, it's not too hard but not too easy It depends on the mode you're playing and from experience, it doesn't appear to me as difficult as it can be with games like Bloodborne or the other one which name I can't remember but comes from the same creators of said game. I recall that if you want just an easy going time without much challenge there's an option in the game which you can tap for, without going through the whole quest deal (I haven't tried it, and I don't know 100% how it works so I'd recommend to look it up than take it for granted that it'll be mostly handsoff). The graphics are amazing, the story is compelling and if there's anything I'd probably ask for but defeats the purpose of the videogame would be character customization (thus, kinda pointless to mention, but other than a few clothing selection there's not much to have and change, although irrelevant in the end because it's not really... Essential to the game. It would add aesthetic appeal, however. Obviously, you also can't change the character: you're involuntarily, but purposely, switched between the main guy and Siri). if you're looking for that I'd recommend other video games like Skyrim and Dragon age, or some oldies (sorta, for PS3) like Mass Effect, among others but really those are the first that come mind that I like. Anyways, good game. I tend to get bored after a few days of full immersion and although I've only played it a couple times, I've had multiple friends rave and recommend it so long you're into walkthroughs and long-ish games.
