Bought this tv on a Black Friday sale last year. Within 3 months there was a line down the entire screen. It was a huge pain to warranty through Toshiba. After we finally did get someone out from the Geek Squad to confirm the issue we had to bring the tv back to the store only to find out that this model was no longer available and there was nothing of equal value/size for the price we paid. So basically we had to spend more money to replace it with a comparable tv.

I would not recommend a Toshiba TV to my worst enemy.
1. Their customer support is horrible
2. They stop making parts way before the 5 yr requirement.
3. Products have lots of problems.
4. Their service is so bad their site has dead tel numbers and emails posted.
5. I once called customer service and could hear dogs barking.
6. My emails and tweets never get answers.
7. My tv needed a small part within 3 yrs of purchase and no repair place could find it and Toshiba told me I was out of luck.

Avoid this TV

Bought this and after I plugged it in, I immediately regretted this purchase. The sound quality is awful (after a day it would go silent after changing channels or input) and the picture was grainy.
I tried watching HD channels through my cable and also watched a DVD (which I had to put up at 75 to hear) and it was terrible. The TV would show 1080i input but it looked likeback780 at best. My 8 year old Vizio and 10 yr old Samsung have far better quality.
I returned and purchased a 55" Insignia for about the same price and am completely satisfied.

Broke after three weeks

Best Buy has a 15 day return policy... and I doubt they even honor it anyway. After three weeks, this Toshiba screen broke. I had a Panasonic plasma TV for 8 years that is still working just fine, but I wanted a larger TV. I was expecting more than three weeks. Cheaply made junk. The Toshiba TV is distributed and warranted by Best Buy. They will deny any warranty claim without really investigating. Waste of money.
When it worked it was a little blurry compared to my old plasma TV.
Never again will I step foot into a Best Buy store. Although that may be inevitable when they go the way of Circuit City and go under. It will be justified.

Don't bother with this TV. Even after setting TV to the calibrated settings found on avsforum the picture quality it's horrible. We bought this TV for the bedroom and returned it because of how badly it looked. Motion blur was pretty terrible also. We bought the HiSense 50H8C for $50 more and it's leaps and bounds nicer to look at.
