Great value for 5TB hard drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hard drive boast good specs (128MB cache / 7200rpm) at a price that typically will only afford you a comparable 4TB drive from other brands. I own WD Enterprise, Green, and Black drives plus a couple HGST Deskstars and this Toshiba is the loudest of them all. Mine is in a external USB enclosure though so the experience may not be so bad for someone using it internally in their rig. I've owned this drive for about 4 months with no issues. I will mention that this model has a 3 year warranty versus Toshiba's newer X300 line which only carries a 2 year warranty, but I've never had a RMA experience with Toshiba so it is hard to say if there is any value in the extra year warranty. I would recommend this drive if you can get it at an price that beats other brands at the same size and RPM.

Best bang for the buck...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Toshiba is a great buy for the price... Five terabytes for $145. Runs at 7200 rpm and has a 128MB cache. It is quiet and does not get that warm. I do not know how good the drives would be if used in a NAS but for a PC, they cannot be beat...

Good HDD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this drive for 1.5 months. I do not find this drive noisy. It writes fast. And it does not generate excessive heat. The drive just feels warm (not even hot to touch). For the discounted price, it is a real bargain.

Huge amount of storage, great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for an internal HDD to install into my desktop to serve as storage (music, pictures, etc), and came upon this offering. I was familiar with 1, 2, and 4 TB HDDs and have been pleased with Toshiba HDDs in the past. The 5Tb capacity piqued my curiosity. I purchased based on the reviews on BB, the price (on sale; cheaper per Gb), and specs (capacity; cache; speed were all what i wanted). This has worked well for me with no issues since installing almost 1 month ago.

Good Price for a big HDD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I normally go for WD black drives for my builds but the price on their larger drives is quite steep in comparison so, I took a shot with 2 of these. The drives arrived fine and work as expected. These do run a little hot and if you are writing consistently to the drive you can hear it at times but with standard read it is quite.

Noisy expectations.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first spinning drive over 2 gb. I use this drive to install game software. Games run fine and heat isn't a problem in my case. I understand that noise is a issue as HDDs gets more capacity. The noise from this drive is loud when installing software, but unnoticeable while running software.

Great Price Great Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Louder than expected, but I am used to laptop and SSD drive sounds. Easy install and works great so far, I just hate that it's only 4.5 GB. There should be a law that makes it what is is, I know it's because of verbage.

Capacity, Speed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Capacity and performance at a good price. High speed, a must for the capacity. Running 24/7 on a network server, no errors.

HUGE storage & works flawlessly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For "non-exclusive" products, I usually shop Amazon, Newegg & Microcenter for best price & availability. Bestbuy, often, was the "best" place (pun intended) for me to buy from, but the most important thing - I bought two of these 5TB Toshiba drives and they work flawlessly (so far). I have older Toshiba 2, 4 & 5TB drives & they continue to work flawlessly so I don't expect anything different from these two.

Great deal for this much storage.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great deal for this much storage. Seems reliable so far. I worry about having to back this drive up somehow. 5TB would be a lot to lose at once.

Great price, not premium drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a lot of space in a media PC for movies. This drive definitely fit the bill. Great space for the price. I had never owned a Toshiba hard drive before, so it made me nervous to see the reviews talking about it being loud while operating - definitely since it was going inside my PC's case which sits on top of my desk. To be honest, I do hear it spin up and seek, but in general the noise does not bother me. The rest of the machine is SSDs, so I definitely know it is the Toshiba drive I am hearing. Been using it for about a month and very happy so far.

Great adventure. Pretty good drive.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After finally getting it shipped to the store (which was an adventure in and of itself...but it turn out pretty good, BB took care of me.) I got 2 of these and they run slightly warmer than the 1TB I have. I have 5 total hard drives in my system and these two run about 36 Celsius where the smaller drives run about 30. I looked it up and those are normal temps for a drive this size...and I'm sure the heat from the other 1tb drives don't help. Had these for about a month....no problems.

Was a bear to install.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this was a bear to install, and there were no warnings about the type of formatting and additional steps you'd need to take, or that it was really only a 4.54 tb, not a real 5 tb, it still was a good price and now that it is installed, works well. Be warned, you will need to hook it up via a usb harness first to set it to the proper format before you can use it in your Windows 10 computer.

Great Price - Lots of Space - Works Perfectly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a drive that would replace an older smaller drive. 5TB at 7200rpm so I could do video editing was great. I had heard that the speed wasn't the best because it was such a big drive and that 2TB and 3TB perform better but after installing and filling it up it works like a charm. Thinking about getting another one!

Lots of Space at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this drive almost 2 months and it is still going strong. It is a little noisier than my other hard drives, but for the price I can't be picky. I searched everywhere for the lowest price. Nothing beat the deal Best Buy offers it at. I think it is a great cost effective hard Drive.

Works Well in NAS, Drive is on QNAP's HCL
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drive works well in a NAS enclosure in spite of being on the warm side (most 7200rpm drives will be similar). The one thing I'm not a big fan of with this drive is that the drive heads make a LOT of noise compared to most modern drives. I decided to accept the trade off for the good performance, reasonable warranty (3 years vs most drives now having 1 year), and the fact that the drives are on QNAP's tested and approved hard drive list for at least the TS-453Pro and TS-451.

Huge capacity, fast and quiet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a consolidated storage drive for all my Mac and PC files in one place. This fit the bill with one drive capable or equaling the sizes of all my other drives primary partitions combined. It was on clearance and cheap so it was a no brainer to buy it. It's quiet, fast, and runs cool enough to use in a hot swap bay with just passive cooling.
