A complete improvement from the fios router I had in use from Verizon. Range and signal has multiplied exponential to all areas that previously had bad reception. No issues were experienced with the dual band 2.4ghz/5ghz identical SSID setup. Devices select the best band to use. Setup was simple and there are many advanced config menus for those who want to get granular. Speed test menu built in. If you have fios make sure you use a cat 6 cable from the ont and release the IP from the router before replacing. This TP-Link is way ahead of it game.

Purchased this after reading reviews on tomsguide.com. This router performed the best at punching through walls and ceilings, which is what we need. My wife works upstairs as far from the router as is possible in our house. A WiFi extender did not help, all of the 1000 or higher powerlines are sold out nationwide. My wife was getting 10-20mb at best, could not even take part in a Zoom call. After purchasing this router, my cellphone gets 115mb (we have the 100mb plan from Spectrum) and she is getting 80mb on her laptop. I pointed all three antennas at the opposite end of the house, it's working wonderfully. I used my phone to set it up, was up and running in 10 minutes, and I am not some super-tech person.

The TpLink Archer C2300 Cloud router has to be one of the best routers I have used in a long time. It is much smaller and compact compared to others I have. Installing was very easy with the TpLink Tether App. I had it up and running in about 10 minutes. The Tether app also allows you to make setting changes like parental controls and turning wireless networks on and off. You can also set up the router with a Web browser if you choose. Since installing the Archer C2300 I have not had any problems. Prior to installing the router my kids would constantly complain that the internet was being slow and movies took forever to load. Gaming with someone watching a movie on Netflix was nearly impossible with our old router. Now we have multiple devices watching movies and kids gaming all at the same time with no problem. The range of the Archer C2300 is amazing. I am able to get rid of the range extender that was needed with my old router due to dead spots with little or no wireless coverage. I love the shiny look of the Archer C2300. It looks great and blends in beautifully with my other electronic devices. Alot of routers i have had to disable the lights but i found that there was no need on this device because they are a perfect brightness. There is an option if you would prefer having them off. It has 2 USB ports for local storage sharing, printer sharing, remote access to a USB drive when away from home, and as a media server. This was a review of a free product received from TpLink as part of a review program.

Looked in to wifi6/AX routers, but current first gen units do not fully implement the wifi6 innovations resulting in no real world speed gains over AC, but with lower reliability. AX are simply not ready for primetime, I switched to TP-Link ten years ago after realizing you get the same hardware for half the price , and materially better reliability (on-average). First I tried and returned the qualcom/atheros based Archer C6. Poor range, cheap feel— weighed next to nothing. Then I bought this unit, which features a Broadcom chip set. HUGE aluminum heat sinks inside; weighs three to four times the Archer C6/A6. And the power adapter is literally three times the wattage of the C6/A6, which gives some indication that the radios are more powerful. The radios are very powerful indeed and the range is insane. Also the antennas are dual band and detachable. I have an extension co-ax cable on each antenna, spreading them out in a straight line spanning 40ft above my dropped loft apartment ceiling. I turned off three other access points and now the whole 2500sq ft loft apartment, built in a cast iron building with all metal studs construction, is served with lightning fast reliable WiFi by this single router. It’s bulletproof. If you buy this router, the most important thing you can do is to add forced air fan cooling, running 24/7. In my case I made a fan shroud out of a shallow plastic sushi take-out container which is attached with double stick tape and zip ties sealing over the entire top panel/vents. Two USB **ball bearing** fans made by CoolerGuys attach to the outside of the shroud , over two approx 3 inch holes cut in the bottom of sushi container. The USB power for the fans is plugged in to the router’s USB 2.0 port. The Broadcom radios are very high power, but also far less efficient than qualcomm/atheros and thus generate boatloads of heat. This is unfortunate, but frankly I simply need the higher performance and accept the efficiency trade off. But as you can see reading through the reviews, the radios will def cook themselves prematurely in the absence of forced air cooling — despite their massive heatsinks. The fans are essential.

Doubled 2.4G performance and provided 5G as a bonus for me as compared to my previous Netgear router. Currently I am maxed out at my Cable company's bandwidth 30M which I pay for, so could not test it to its limits. Strong signal at all the corners of a 4800 sq feet house including basement. A similar ARRIS router which comes with a cable modem did not provide an as strong 2.4G and 5G signal at the farthest points. Trouble free operation for many weeks since installed without requiring reboots or disconnects. May further elaborate when I utilize other functionality like USB etc later. Bought this after lots of professional reviews and comparisons with competitors.

So far, so good. I had an older, lower speed capable Net Gear dual band, located in my basement. Yeah, not a good location when all of our connections and streaming take place on the first floor. But, the better half wanted no more boxes/units on the TV stand, so it stayed in the basement. It did seem occasionally we'd lose connection, and my kids (all adults) complained about slowness of their phone connections when visiting. But now that I put this baby in place, I suspect they will no longer be complaining. I'm regularly getting speeds of 85+ down and 15+ up and coverage seems good all through my 2-story house. Set up was very easy, but I kept all defaults, only changed the sign on access info.

Bought this router as a replacement for my Netgear R700 which kept dropping the wifi connection. I've had this TP-Link router up and running for a few weeks now and have not had to manually reset my connection once! Set up was relatively easy and I am getting speeds as fast as what I am paying my ISP for. What a relief to finally have a fast, reliable product that is also now at a new low price!

So far this router is everything I hoped it would be. Setup was super easy. It's more compact than my previous TP-Link that was failing me, and the range of this new router is far better on both the 2.4 and 5ghz bands. It packs a major punch for a rather unintimidating looking device, and I think it would be a perfect fit for most homes.

This router is excellent! It’s top feature is QoS (Quality of Service) which makes it a smart router, and it knows what type of device is connected to it. With that capability, it can give the right amount of bandwidth or give priority to streaming or gaming devices. It’s all laid out well in the app, and on that note, the app is wonderful to use and you can control your network from anywhere. It also has range boost with beam forming so it can boost signal to a device that is technically out of range. Best of all, is that it actually works as claimed. I’m actually pretty blown away by this router, it has so many high end router features at technically a mid tier price point. It’s covers over 40 devices across my 2400 sqft two story home, and I couldn’t be happier.

There are always mixed reviews, but my experience was that this unit was easy to set up and customize with the accompanying software... This unit boosted my software download speeds tremendously. I am still at the mercy of the cable company, but I feel that Im getting the best possible result on my side of the modem.

Setup of the router itself was fairly uncomplicated. It pays to keep your prior SSID and password for the 2.4g if switching from a single band router. Getting all of my devices working properly took some time. I had to reboot the modem after the initial connection. And some of the devices required multiple restarts to get them right. One odd development was that I had to re-pair all of my Xfinity remotes to get them working properly. Speed is much improved and no drops so far.

Bought this to replace the router capabilities of my old Moto Surfboard cable modem and am not disappointed. Setup out of the box is easy and management is done through the Tether app on your phone. After an initial firmware update I have had no problems with dropped signal or coverage area, even out in my garage where I never could connect before. Speeds are right where you should expect on -ac and -n devices. But my favorite feature of the Archer 2300 is the ability to view and prioritize traffic to individual devices in Tether. It's a simple and clean UI and even though there are plenty of other networking devices that let you do that, it's really easy to find and use once it's set up, and I use it permanently for streaming on a Chromecast Ultra as well as toggling on and off for large downloads. All in all a vast improvement so far over any wireless gateway I've ever used.
