    Good for 11 months then....

Owned for 10 months when reviewed.

We started getting vertical lines along the bottom of the screen. They went away for a couple weeks but came back and stayed there for a few weeks now. The lines went away one morning for about 20 mins then came back double the size. Luckily I bought a 5 year plan with the TV. This seems to be a common problem not with just Visio. Sometimes there's an easy fix but I've tried all of those with no luck. Before this happened the TV looked great... Especially great for PS5 games.

    New Vizio 58” M7 TV

Best Buy delivered as scheduled, as usual. Installation and startup went very well (we did our own installation). The startup worked very well by following Vizio’s instructions exactly. Interface with the WiFi was successful on the first try. I had to make some adjustment to the picture default settings to get a picture that we liked and quite a few modification to the audio to get to a point that low volume vocal was clear enough to understand.

    Poor QA, Recurring Defects

Seemed to work great but became defective within a year. I bought my unit in Dec 2021 and now in summer of 2022 the screen has begun flashing pink streaks. This issue is common enough for Vizio that there are troubleshooting guides online and the tech support agents will ask you specifically if that's why you're calling. I read a ton of reviews on this TV before buying but none mentioned this concern. Thankfully my unit is under manufacturer warranty but that only lasts for 12 months and even still I'll have to wait at least 2 to 3 weeks before I'll have a tv again, despite dropping hundreds on this one. Even if the replacement is flawless, I wouldn't risk buying Vizio again.

The TV itself is Great . I love the connectivity between my Apple devices and my Tv . The only thing I’m not fond of is the inability to download all the apps I use . I’m forced to use my iPhone or iPad to watch some of my favorite apps .

Failed after 10 months with same issues as others

Like a number of other buyers, we too had an issue with the lower and upper part of the picture working but everything in between locking up. Vizio service has been ok and has offered a couple of solutions to replace etc... The hassle of not having a working TV and then waiting for the replacement is just too long. One of two options would take almost two months to correct. The simple option of returning it to a store and picking up a replacement seems to be outside of company allowance. Just ticked now...

Originally thought this was a good purchase since I've owned 5 or 6 Vizio Televisions over the last 15 years or so that were great products. But after a little over 6 months this TV started developing a slight flicker at the bottom of the screen. Today when I turned it on it has huge area that is about 9/10 of the screen that is a dark bar across the whole screen with a sliver of picture across the top. I've done everything I could think of or find on the internet so far to no avail. I couldn't even put in a request through Vizio's website because it wouldn't upload the needed picture of the problem. If anyone else has had this issue and was able to resolve it, I'd love to know what you did. I didn't get the service contract because I've never had electronics die on me this quickly. Maybe I just got a lemon but I'll think twice on my next Vizio purchase

I should have listened to the other reviews. I bought it on August 16, and now, Spetember 21, it is dead. The screen is super messed up. This picture doesn't even show how bad it is. The longer the TV is on the worse it gets. I've had problems with the TV since I bought it. It didn't setup/update properly the first time. It often times showed a blank screen when it should have been at the menu. The worst part: I can't return it according to the Best Buy web site. I cannot recommend this TV. It's pretty much been terrible since it was delivered.

A nice smart TV with a major weaknesses

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.

I purchased both 58 and 70 versions of this to replace two old 34 inch 1080 Vizio TVs from about 2005. These are a major upgrade. The Smart part of the Smart TV is really amazing. The picture is wonderful. There are unfortunately two major weaknesses. Both related to the TV part of the Smart TV. (In Dallas, we have about 100 over the air channels so this is a big deal.) 1) Both sets have lost sound for a few of the over the air stations. The only way to get sound again is to unplug the set. This has happened more than once (in less than week) for both sets. It is likely a software problem. 2). It is 2021. My sets from 2005 ware able to display the title of the current TV show on which ever channel you happened to tune to. Most other brands will give you the schedule of all of the local stations. THESE TVS DON’T EVEN DISPLAY THE TITLE OF THE CURRENT SHOW ON A GIVEN CHANNEL. This is an incredible weakness. One that could be fixed with a bit of software. For example the over the air channels could and should be pulled into the WatchFree+ app on the Smart TV. And then the schedule for all could be showing under certain circumstances. This is what Samsung does… Bottom line is that Vizio needs to make some major improvements to the software driving their Smart TVs.

    Not Made in America

This was a kind of sweet and sour purchase. I bought it because I wanted American Made! It came up on Google when I did a search. What it didn't tell me was they started expanding out to China which is precisely what I didn't want! Overall the picture is good once you take it off some of the default settings, The Customer service has been good although also outsourced and for the price the TV seems to be performing well and works good with the Vizio Surround Sound system I'll review next. Overall a good TV for the money but disappointing to find out it's from China! I've been more of a Sony Guy and if I had it to do over I may have made a different decision.

    58" QUANTUM W/LOCAL DIMMING

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.

Nice 4k upgrade with deeper contrast. After reading reviews from cnet and rtings.com thinks it's a good buy. Coming from a 55" is a satisfying bump up in size without having to go 10" more to a 65" - MANUFACTURER's should note there's a market for this size! PROS 1. GOOD picture quality and contrast. Colors pop nicely. Settings good out of the box. Just needs a bit of fine tuning. 2. Only 58" with local dimming which helps black levels. 3. Speakers better than most and with surprising mid bass. 4. Smart tv is good although still use roku for Sling tv app. 5. No issues to report 3 weeks in. CONS 1. Took off one star because of the viewing angle which washes out at sides but manageable. Upping the gamma level helps. Hope they improve on newer models.

This Vizio TV is good but not excellent. The quick set up printed guide was not good at all. The ignored putting the step in where you are to plug in the TV. Instead, they went went showed a video game set up or something. Also, the remote has the least amount of features of any TV remote I have ever seen. The voice command does not have any guide for it. The picture setting are okay at best, and I will need to have someone color calibrate the TV. On the plus side, the TV sounds good and I really like the Smart Cast feature.

    Great TV, Intermitent Annoying Issues

We researched the best budget gaming TV to buy and found this one. We do truly love it but have had some intermitent glitches that can't be resolved even through Best Buy and Vizio technical support. 1. First the TV wouldn't turn on with remote or TV button. Did a power cycle and it was fixed. 2. TV remote again - got a new remote 3. Sometimes we turn the TV on and the Home menu with all icons is blank, just the top bar (no icons) and a black screen. Not black. We have to use the remote voice feature to navigate. Again we power cycle and it is ok for most of the time. 4. The TV power button on the TV blinks sometimes and I read online that means something is failing, but we have only had the TV less than 6 months

Very poor viewing angle and some glitches

    |

The TV has good picture quality as long as you are sitting directly in front of the TV, and I mean directly in front of the TV. If you view from even a slight angle the picture color is very distorted. The TV has an Enhanced Viewing Angle setting, but there is absolutely no noticeable improvement with this setting on. I am very disappointed with how poor the viewing angle performance is. I expected better from a brand like Vizio and a TV at this price. I paired this with a Vizio 5.1.2 soundbar which I love. Since I mostly view from sitting directly in front of the TV and I do not want to deal with the hassle of returning and starting over, I will live with it. But buyer beware, I am not exaggerating, the viewing angle performance is awful. Additionally, there are other glitches. The Volume Control display does not always display. This is very random. Sometime I turn on the TV and when I adjust the volume it does not display the volume level. So I have no idea what level the TV is at. Also, there are time when the Volume Control display is very delayed, like up to 15 seconds after I adjust the volume, the TV will then show change I made. Finally, when you turn the TV on there is an information bar that pops in from the top of the screen that shows some info such as time, input, picture quality, etc. This bar usually automatically disappears after a couple of seconds, but sometimes it bugs out and stays on screen. So you have to turn the TV off and then on again or play with the setting and then hit the back button. Not a huge deal but annoying.

A pretty good TV that was a decent price but has probably the worst viewing angle of any TV I've seen. You have to be looking at it straight on. If not it kinda has a pinkish redish hue on the sides.
