This external hard drive offers reliable storage for digital files and works with both Windows and Mac systems. Transferring files is quick and easy, and its durable build ensures data safety. However, it requires an external power source and lacks bundled backup software. Overall, it's a practical solution for expanding storage, despite these drawbacks.

I bought a few of these to shuck and use inside a PC for gaming, due to them being 7200rpm drives. They are very fast, definitely worth the purchase. They run slightly hotter than I would prefer, even when not in use or idle, but still worth it due to their performance level. Again, these are running hot while shucked and inside my PC....temps inside the stock case with it's tiny fan were even worse.

I have 2 of these. First off, I don't use these for a playstation externsl hd. I use one for my Shield Pro to store my digital movies as well as to store roms for my emulators. I use the other as a backup storage unit for my laptop.
I absolutely love the size and speed of these! The 7200rpm makes a huge difference. Definitely pricey, but it works great. Will be buying another since my 8tb one is full now.

I purchased this external hard drive when the PS5 came out, since the small solid state drives makes it pretty much a requirement to have external storage. The unit reads and writes very quickly, is good looking, and is easy to set upland format. The downside is that it's loud, however for the amount of storage it provides, it's worth ignoring the background noise. I did purchase the unit on discount, and I think its retail value is too steep for what it does. With that said, anything above a 10% discount makes this a worthwhile investment to your PS4 game saves to and leave more onboard storage for your newer PS5 games that can’t be transferred to external.

This drive surprised me with it's speed, being a USB external drive. The size is big enough to store all my installed 580 games on Steam with tons of room to spare. Just over half full with all of them. Bought it after a price drop ($179.00), and well worth the price. It's also compatible with Xbox One, and thinking of getting a second drive just for that machine. Can't comment on the drives longevity as I've only had it a couple weeks at this point. If any problems occur, I will edit this review, but so far, so good!

I would give this 5 stars, but I can't find a Windows property to prevent this drive from falling asleep after several minutes of being idle. This is important to me, because I am using it as my main drive for my Plex Server. When it is spinning, the performance is great and the streaming of my blu-rays is fantastic. I have to believe it would be great for X-Box gaming as well, which is its primary purpose. The noise and pulse of the drive is noticeable in a quiet room, but where I keep it, it isn't a problem.

Works very well and boots up very quick! Accessing everything on the drive is very quick and easy to do! I use it for storing my photos I take during events! Easy to travel with as well

feel like this drive offers a good cost to speed compromise. Regular external HD's are slower but slightly cheaper, solid state drives are faster but WAY more expensive for comparable space and have a caveat that they can only be written to so many times.

This is one of the best drive I have gotten in years, with 8 TB and a 7200RPM drive along with active cooling, it is fast and efficient. I have it partitioned with 4TB for Mac Time Machine backup and the other 4TB is for the Windows 10 backup on Bootcamp. Being the same price as a standard 8TB with only 5200RPM and no active cooling this is a better buy for the money!

I've had this for about a month now and so far I have no problems with it. The setup was very easy, just connected the storage to my PS5 and the system was able to pick it up automatically. I was able to transfer all my games onto the storage. I currently have 16 games and still have plenty of space for more. The only thing I notice is that it will get a bit loud but I'm not one to get bothered by it.

If you want more games and a fast hard drive for the Xbox One, this is it. Super easy to install, even downloading games from Microsoft to it. I went from 97% full on storage to 3%. It’s a must have for anyone who games
