Great storage. Works well out of box. Highly recommended. Cannot comment on long term stability.

After doing a little research, I found this to be the most cost effective storage expansion for an Xbox One. The system has had no issues and even seems to boot games faster. For those wondering an Xbox One can support up to 16 TB of external storage and has 3 USB ports so you can run two of these and a wireless headset pod

I bought this to provide backup of critical files from my NAS, I think this is a NAS issue, not an issue with the My Book. The NAS did not see the drive, for whatever reason. With my PC it worked very well, which meant I had to stream all the files across the network, which took somewhat longer and tied up my PC. But, a good device, no issues so far.

Glad to find a truly Plug-N-Play external hard drive. It seems so many external HDs, including others by western Digital, require downloading software, reformatting, partitioning, etc. I use it as an external backup for my HP laptop. Very quiet running, almost silent, and stays cool.

I recently picked up two of these drives to use as backup for photo and video projects and am very pleased with the performance. I typically can see transfer (write speeds) rates over 100MB/S, depending on the size of files being transferred. I took a star off due to them being a little noisy and no activity LED. Otherwise a very good value.

This is now my biggest hard drive. I have several others up to 5 tb. This is my first 8 Tb. Surprisingly to me it is 1 1/2 times faster than any other external drive iI have and I have over 10 hard drives. My previous hard drives maxed out at 100mb per second where as this 8 tb maxes out at about 180mb er second. large and fast what's to not like. These results are using 3.0 usb
