I personally think these were great investments. I bought one for my PS4 and another as a backup storage for my desktop and laptop. I downloaded my entire PS4 library onto one of these beasts and moved any games I'm currently playing onto the system HD. Then I unplug this until I need to access it. Pros: 1) You will never fill this up! 2) You can play games directly off this thing! 3) It's surprisingly quick for being so massive. 4) See pro #1! Negatives: 1) You can't use PS4's remote play or 2) PS4's auto/remote download when this is set as your primary storage (which is why I disconnect it when not using it). 3) The fan gets a little loud if its been on a while and starts to heat up (I played some games directly off the ext hd & discovered that). 4) You can't use this as an external HD for a PS4 AND a computer.

Don't just trust the cloud for your important files. This unit is simple and dependable. Keep an extra copy in another location for the safest back-up system. I use this drive unit for photos, easy to retrieve and view

Easily partitioned for Time Machine b/u and for archive (getting stuff off my root HD. Works flawlessly so far (after about a month). Smaller footprint than my previous 4TB (2 HDs in RAID) for same function.

Great external hard drive. It was very easy to install (plug and play). I installed it on a MAC to replace an existing problematic external drive.

Don’t have to worry about running out of space anymore. Just keep it somewhere safe where it can’t get knocked over and keep the cords out of reach so they don’t get tripped over or pulled and launch your hard drive across the floor.

So far this drive is holding up pretty well. Lots of storage space and the drive is pretty quiet. I am nervous about a 8TB HDD crashing, but for the price, it was well worth it.

Nice external drive for the price! If your looking for something that doesn't make any noise at all look to the SSD drives

Works great. I got it to use for Time Machine backups for my Macs. It may be a little on the loud side for some people but it’s not a big deal for me.

Great price and drive for storing large files. Especially if you need a drive in the meantime and can’t a drive with more space at the moment.

works good on computers. Would have given 5 Stars, but when plugged into my smart tvs, TVs don't recognize it in the USB ports. Bought 2.0 extension cable after reading up on it and still did not function. Still worth the money for backing up documents and photos.

So far running just great..I've used WD My Book before, lasted maybe 8 years was time for another and for a great price at Best Buy I have 8TB of storage..more than enough, but just in case.

Western Digital hard drives have always been my go to drives for backup purposes. I tried other brands and ran into issues with them. I have yet to have a Western Digital Drive to fail. I love security features of this drive and price was right!

Simple: I have another WD with which I am very happy. So when I inherited some of my aunt's family photos I decided to copy all the "new" photos to a new WD so I could Identify all the people or places for the coming generations. My "Photo Gallery" can hold close-ups as well as groups of photos of my own making and there is plenty of room for the "newbies". The WD is easy to set up and to use. The price was reasonable.

Great pickup service from Best Buy, less than 5 minutes wait to bring out merchandise. Hard drive is what I needed. Plenty of TB for storage of files. Always great to work with Best Buy.

This thing is huge. I'll eventually fill it up at some point (20 years hence). Runs quiet and cool. Data transfers speeds seem decent enough and can easily stream media from it to any device in my house.

It is working great for me. It allowed me to put four different passport storage device info on this one hard drive.
