Much needed space increase over the previous 3TB I had. Transfer of existing data went well and completed in a timely fashion over night.

Needed their techs to install on our computers as too complicated for me on good computers. Make sure you set your computer to not go to sleep or it can stop copying your stuff (they missed that). Make sure you have space left in your computer or it won't work until you delete some files. Maybe 5-6 giga bites. Their entry level techs don't listen and address that if even you tell them your computer has been sending messages that things don't work as it is too full. Oh and we bought a 4 and and 8 for expiring 1 windows 7 computers and a win dows 10. Now I need to locate my specific thing in the file as numbers not names and not by years. That may be due to file names or lack of names in my computers and previous much older sytem to save of theirs. Dates and ID would be best to file these mega files.

This is my 3rd unit, purchased for as an external for music production studio sound expansions. WD My Book has proven themselves to be very stable and reliable. I would definitely recommend this especially when on sale.

I've been buying slim hard drives because of their portability. After awhile I realized I wasnt really moving them around and did not need that extreme portability. This one is a bit heavier but hold so much that it replaced several of my old drives.

Excellent and easy to use! User friendly and FAST. I use with MacBook Pro as Time Capsule. It backs up photography, videos flawlessly.

Am using this for Time-machine backups. So far not problems. Easy to reformat for iMac.

I bought this as soon as the external hard drive update for PS4 came out. 8TB is the maximum so I shouldn't have a problem with storage space. Great for playing on multiple ps4s. Awesome!

Seems to work ok...explorer and back up software indicate files are being saved. Makes a loud thumping sound when connected/operating, but doesn't appear to be an issue.

Very good value, the only thing I had todo was reformat it for NTFS, which took a few moments since something was still using it. I have been using it as a backup since I bought it and it works fine.

I use it for storing my media files and streaming/listening to them through my hard drive from my wide screen television. It beats searching for the physical copy of a DVD and music disk when I have the urge to see or listen to them.

I purchased this storage device about 6 months ago for music and it has worked just fine. I have over 1T of music on it, and it is fast! and works well with my cd ripper. Would highly recommend.

I purchased this product to replace an older model that was almost full. It would take about an hour to transfer 100gb files. I plugged this one in and within one hour I was able to transfer over 900gbs of files!

As with any larger external drive, there's some minor vibration (depending on the type of surface it's sitting on) when it's running. I replace the factory pads on the bottom with thicker self-adhesive foam or cork pads, which are far more effective than rubber in reducing noise and vibration. The drive can be password protected with built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption, and comes with good backup software if you want to use it that way.

I really like WD My Book external hard drives. They are totally dependable. I would get a WD hard drive over any other brand. So easy to set up and very compatible. Have Never had a problem with WD My Book. Would recommend them to others.

I have loved the WD MyBook series of external HDD ever since they first came out. they are reliable and solid. I am in the video editing business and they serve great for storing old projects that I am no longer working on.

Looks good, stores all my stuff. Hard drives usually are hard to review until like 2 years after you buy them so you know if they fail. This one does what it says it will.

I bought this as a gift for my son, he researched products beforehand and said this was really a good one and at a great price. He's very happy!

Before purchasing this I acquired a Seagate drive from another online retailer. Unfortunately, that device was dead on arrival. This WD drive has served me well and works flawlessly with my local Plex setup at home.

Lots of space with a reputable drive manufacturer. Seems to be fast and as always the back up software is intuitive and easy to use. I will continue to buy drives from WD.

Highly recommended external hard drive. I have used WD product for several years and not had any problems. I recommend this product especially as the price continues to drop.
