I'm already on my second one, since the first one never worked properly & after a week bricked. Against my better judgement I bought another & it actually worked!!!..... for the first 2 weeks, then the problems reared their ugly heads again. Now it randomly disconnects from my network, or freezes up, or simply will not let you access it. The reset button on the back of the unit never works, so I have to physically unplug to reset the thing to allow me to connect. If i'm at home this is just an inconvenience, but when i'm away from home & want to access my data, this defeats the entire purpose of the unit. Plus upload speeds are horrendous and backing up my pc files takes literally DAYS. I'm on the verge of returning the second unit, and just buying a regular external hard drive & carrying it with me instead of rolling the dice with the MyCloud.

Easy to set up, many storage and user management features on a well organized, browser based dashboard application. Remotely access data, including videos (with streaming) photos with slideshow feature, and other data. Use traditional desktop PC and iOS or Android mobile devices via free app's. Can access data from home network or on the Internet. The drive is in a small physical package and makes no noise. A friend also bought one and loves it too!

I love the device, I purchased the 3 terabyte version. It has plenty of space for pretty much anything I need to back up or store. Once you learn how to use it it's very user friendly. My only complaint is that it doesn't really come with instructions on how to use. It only tells you how to set it up. Overall great product, would recommend.

In general both systems work great! I am even able to use my phone and stream content directly and back up my photos. Adding the synchronized folder in Mac works very much like a dropbox or Google drive would, but doesn't play well out of the box for windows. Aside from that, great buy!

Love this product and how it makes accessing everything, like my pictures, so easy for all our computers. However, it was very hard to instal on our older (6 years old) tower computer and doesn't always access all the pictures stored on there. Could be user error since the installation was not completely fool proof on the older model computer.

I've had this drive for about 2 weeks now and it's working fine. The set up was pretty simple, and it appears to be working fine. My only issue is that I thought I could connect an additional external hard drive via the USB connection to add additional storage and make transferring information quicker. I don't think that is something that can be done with this drive, unless you know how to reprogram it.

I used this to replace a server with a suddenly dead hard drive. Installation went smoothly. GBE worked perfectly. Once the accounts were set up I was able to restore my files easily. I can access them remotely and can map the drive with no problem. It is an appliance so works is better than flash features as far as I am concerned. One little inconvenience. With my server, Linux based, I could map to both of the computers I use regularly, with the same credentials. This drive does not allow it. Looking into a missed option or a work around. Simplest seems to be to create a second ID for the second computer. In all I am quite pleased and would recommend it to others. Side benefit , power consumption is a tiny fraction of its predecesso.

I had my cell phone stolen last year and thousands of pictures along with it. I didn't care about the value of the phone but losing those precious pictures of my children made me sick. I had an external hard drive to transfer the pictures to but always procrastinated performing the transfer. I never imagined my cell phone would get stolen. I bought this home cloud storage and I am completely at ease. I can take pictures while on vacation and as soon as my phone gets to a wifi area (hotel, restaurant, etc) the pictures automatically get backed up on My Cloud at home. If you compare the cost of a normal external hard drive versus the My Cloud with the same space, for a few dollars more you get complete piece of mind. I highly recommend this product.

The MyCloud from Western Digital that I purchased has been a great addition to my work flow and personal file storage solutions. I have had no problems with the product and the set up could not have been easier. I purchased the 3TB version and I have to say that for the cost there is no better personal cloud storage solution out there.

I love the 3 TB Cloud Storage unit. It was very easy for me to purchase this product as I knew I wanted something easy for me to drop photos, documents, all my music and everything else while on the go. I can drop a document from my phone, look at it on my tablet, edit it, re-upload and then use my laptop to put the finishing touches on. My issue is with the service. More importantly Best Buy employee lack of knowledge and lack of consistent information. For example, if one employee tells me this is the highest recommended product, I would buy it. I wouldn't expect to get a conflicting message from another employee 2-3 weeks later (which just so happens to be outside of your ridiculous 15-day return policy) making me rethink my purchase decision. I wish this was the only use case however I experienced the same thing 3 weeks after purchasing several SONOS systems (From a different Best Buy store in the area). When I was looking to buy, the employee explained it was the top product to purchase. 3 weeks later, SEVERAL employees were trashing the SONOS systems and pretty much saying to buy anything but SONOS. Maybe I expect too much, but I will no longer be buying from Best Buy.

This is device is AMAZING!!!!! I can access all of my media on the go. Its really useful with my phone not having an SD card slot, I can still have all of my movies, music, and documents without having to worry about if I have enough space on my device. I would easily buy this again and truthfully, I probably will be buying another when I fill this one up. Completely private, only accessible with a password that I setup.

Plenty of storage for our digital pictures, music and movies. I like that it is able to be seen by all devices in the house easily including our smart TV to stream files from. I did have to make a few firewall rule changes to allow the drive to be seen on the open internet so our phones could access files from it but this is somewhat expected. It does operate and transfer files much quicker if you connect it via ethernet cable over USB.

Got this on sale for a decent price and also used the USB 3.0 port to add a second 3TB MyBook for a total storage space of 5.4TB. Setup was a snap. Both idle at a reasonable wattage and wake time is quick on my wired gigabit network. I am a happy networker so far. Not using any of the included software on either drive. Easy network storage for a reasonable price. The only WD product I have ever had an issue with was a WD Live 1TB drive which failed after a short time but was quickly replaced by WD, although I did have to pay a small shipping charge as I recall, around $5.00 to return their defective product under warranty. I own a lot of WD products.

The My Cloud by WD was just what I needed to solve my large storage requirements and to have the ability to display my photos and video via my Wi Fi network to my Samsung 65 inch smart TV and all my other devices using Wi Fi. It was fast and easy to unpack and set up. I have the 3TB model which stores thousands of pictures and many, many hours of video. I learned a hard lesson when my computer crashed and I lost many important pictures and files. I now back up everything twice. I highly recommend this unit. It is a time and life saver for me.

I really like the my cloud. It works well, easy to set up and is solid. I bought the Seagate personal cloud first and it kept dropping offline so I returned it and bought this. The my cloud has been steady and working well. The android app works well on my phone.

this is my first NAS drive, and installation and setup was very simple. I use a PC and a MAC, the program for both computers as well as the iPhone/iPad apps for the devices work flawlessly. Great solution for storing all of my photos, and files in one location. Also works great with files between multiple devices. The iPhone app is very easy to install and use. Wish there was a way to partition the hard drive, but guess you can't have everything.

The thought of being able to take and save pictures immediately is comforting. I know that if something happens to my phone, my pictures are backed up immediately to my very own personal cloud that is sitting safe and sound at home. Also, I don't have to store my pictures on my phone to show them off. I can save to my cloud and still have enough storage on my phone to have it run more efficiently. Awesom price, awesome product!!!

This is a fantastic external storage device. My only issue is that it is not compatible with my older Mac devices. So it is great if you have newer devices, just be aware the older ones might not work so well.
