Was put into service as a Windows backup drive. Failed after a week. First WD drive I ever had fail like that. Going to ask for replacement. Hopefully the replacement will be OK. Will re-review replacement.

Ok product ...not as good as some other drives. Bought another from Apple.

While having several other versions of a portable hard drive and even other passports, upset that this device failed after about 3 weeks of use. My information is no longer retrievable on this device. Frustrating in that it was purchased to house multiple backups of previous jump drives.

It’s just ok. The drive is already making noise after about a week of use.

The storage makes your computer freeze 11111111111

There are issue with the delivery process. But I got my refund.

It was hard to use this drive with a Mac system and I am still trying to find was to copy/move data off my Mac to the drive without doing a backup. When installing the software that came with the drive for the Mac, it wanted access to share information and login information that is not good.

Bought this 2 days ago. HD was working well until tonight. Was playing Heroes of the Storm. Had 2 more games stored in the hard drive. Just now it stopped working and made weird noises. Does not show up in my computer but the computer recognizes something is connected. returning tomorrow. very unhappy.

I was not able to use this item. It fell out of my hands on the second day. Unfortunately, it was a cash purchase and I wasn't able to find the receipt either. Make sure you don't drop this thing!

I tried this with my iMac and just had no luck. Returned to store.

Have to set it up when I need it. But looks cool. We shall see

I bought this for my kids xbox set it up and didnt think anything more of it. At first it seemed to work just fine. Now that it is past my return date I notice that when they turn the xbox on it doesnt recognize the hard drive like my other ones. The only way to get the xbox to recognize the hard drive is to unplug the USB and plug back in every time you turn the xbox on.

although the product itself is good, the set up and auto back up features are almost non-existent. Support on the WD website is a joke. Had I know how poor the set up would be, i would not have purchased it.

I was using this disk for time machine backups for work. The drive mounts, but I cannot read any data from it, and the Mac's storage utility app and time machine could not access the data after a reboot. Fortunately I'm not suffering data loss, but I'm not amused, the ability to restore is what matters not just backing up, and now I can't do that. After reformatting the volume, I can back up to it, but there are still issues, sadly MacOs cannot see the smart status. I'm going to need a more reliable volume.

Outstanding technology! This is a huge bang for the buck.

Supposedly the fine print on my signed document for the recovery services warned that it might all not be recovered. However, the $500 estimate describing the files to be recovered did not indicate that some file would not be recovered. I don’t feel that I got what I paid for.

It works, but it's very slow. I would like to see a faster download.

This is my second external within a couple of months. The other one just stopped working. Gladly I had purchased the extra $15 replacement plan, so I was able to get this one, with paying another $15 of course. Guess they don't make them like they used to! :(

I wanted to attach these drives to a multi-port USB extension like I do with Flash Drives. When I attach them, they get recognized and then they disappear and not attached and can't use them.
