I am going to keep this review short. This is a good little external hard drive I got it to simply store in my desk drawer for extra space when I need to back stuff up or grab it for the size and transfer photos and videos to the laptop any where in the house. The speed is pretty good using the USB C cord that comes with it and I have had good luck with it so far. When moving photos or videos on or off it seems pretty quick, or as fast as I need this drive to be. The ease of use with the USB C and the price where the two reasons I grabbed this originally and now I still use it a lot even though I have other storage places because I can take this with me if I need to. The size is great and it fits just about anywhere and I think they actually come in other colors besides black but black is the color I got and I like that as well it doesn't stand out and look like some bright red or something when working. I would recommend but I can't attest to how long it will last I have not had it long enough to say, and I have never dropped or been hard on it so I'm not sure of that either, if something happens to it or it stops working I will edit this review so if it still says working then its probably a lasting drive. Also I have always liked this company for some reason and think they have good storage device. Last it doesn't make noise so that is also nice not to have something whirling up like crazy in the back ground it your trying to work or around others.

I have an older Mac and needed to backup and download Mac Sierra OS for it to be up to date. Also wanted the extra storage space. This fit both needs.

I purchased this device at the urging of my daughter a year ago to back up my MacBook every few days and it was so easy to do. I had previously not been backing it up other than using the iCloud to store documents. I am so glad I listened to my daughter. So glad! Because just one week ago I lost my MacBook, it died in a matter of seconds, due to a spilled cup of coffee knocked over by my dog. All of my documents were gone. My keyboard was completely soaked. I was devastated and had to purchase a new MacBook......But thanks to my daughter's expert advice I was able to set up my new computer in just a few hours and everything, tons of documents, transferred seamlessly. It's like I never lost my first computer at all! I highly recommend this device. It's small, inexpensive, easy to use, and such a lifesaver. Backup your computer, accidents happen!!!!

I needed a drive to backup my desktop and laptop (both Apple) and had good performance from an older disc based drive from WD previously (until it inevitably died in me). This solid state 2Tb drive is more than I could ask for in terms of space, performance, and ease of use. And it was $10 cheaper than the 1Tb from another company on the shelf.

The ease of use, its compatibility with my MacBook Pro, and its reliability are all great reasons to consider this as a top choice. The price is very very reasonable. Well designed and very durable!

Use this for Time Machine backups of my MacBook Pro. Works great right out of the box. Inexpensive compared to alternatives which seem to vary widely in price without much difference in size or features. Like the small form factor for travel. Wish it came with a carry wallet of some sort. I have used many of these similar WD drives over the years and never had an issue with durability. I do worry about losing the purpose-made cord because it would be useless without that.

This is great. My computer couldn't hold no more. I was running out of space. This passport is great. I was able to store all my thousands of pics and a lot more files for storage. Now I don't have to worry breaks down. I know that I have ny docs and pictures in my passport. East to use just plug it in and it pops up on my desktop. Then I just move files into my passport.

I bought a 128gb MacBook Air and decided to buy this Harddrive to go along with it. It was one of the best decisions I could make, its very easy to use, works with time machine very well and I keep most of my documents on it to save space on the laptop. Its great! I would definitely recommend.

Was impressed with how easy it was to back up my hard drive on my MacBook Pro. Used it with Time Machine and had no problem. The onboard apps loaded in with ease. Backed up fairly quick. Can work on computer while it is working. Would recommend doing backups at a time when not using the computer. Good choice over other ones I considered.

I've never had a backup device for all three laptops I've had and experienced difficulty because I "wasn't backed up." Bought this device for peace of mind. Now back up our new MacBook Pro every Friday or Saturday. (Didn't want to back up to the "cloud." Still not convinced "the cloud" is all that secure.). This device is very easy to use.

So I had a hard drive before but you had to change some settings to convert to MacBook. And some files were not readable. But now with this hard drive I was able to get my old files back and it automatically backs up for you which is perfect! It has enough storage which is also a plus! Best hard drive for both MacBook and Mac desktop!

I have tried Seagate's back up devices for my MAC's, after a while they just quit connecting. So I saw the WD Back up and saw how easy it was to connect and back up, gave it a try and I agree, no issue at all with backing up my Mac files, emails and pictures. getting ready to go get another one!

I was told to back up my computer with Time Machine, which is a program on my Apple desk top. I had no idea what to buy. This was perfect. It was already formatted. All I did was plug it in and it started Time Machine and practically set itself up. This was definitely for people like me who are not comfortable with computers.

When the geek squad member told me that I should invest in an external hard drive, my eyes rolled back because it sounded like a foreign language to me. I purchased it and the geek squad member transferred the media and pics I wanted from my damaged, old laptop, he showed me how to plug it into my new laptop to view the newly transferred data. Had no idea that this would be so simple. I had 4 old laptops laying around that I wanted pics and videos out of them before I recycled them. Now I have one harddrive that has all the previous memories that I can retrieve whenever I want.

I picked this up to serve as a backup device for my new Mac Mini! Easy to set up! Easy to use! USB 3.0 is FAST! The storage size enables multiple backups. (I like more than one, in case one corrupts). Strongly recommend this!

In my old age I mostly want something that does what I need it to do without complicated instructions. And I want it reliable and durable. My Passport for Mac fits the bill on all counts. What more could I want?!!!

This is our second identical unit and everything is great so far. Needed external hard drives for our macs and these are super easy... just plug and set up time machine. Too easy and takes up little desk space.
