Awesome convection microwave. Love that it takes the place of our large toaster oven. Glass front touch screen was a rare find and so glad it has it. Pops the entire bag of popcorn, no kernels left. The airfry tray works great. Couldn't love it more and I loved my previous but this was a great replacement.

So far we like this convection microwave better than our last one that was known more for their mobile phones. It heats up quickly and buttons are far easier than our last one. It runs quiet, but the finish chime is almost too quiet. Wish it had a volume adjustment. Installation wasn't too bad even for 1 person though my back would probably have said otherwise. About the only thing I'm not too fond of is most of the convection settings use the microwave part to speed up cooking times which limits your choices in bakeware. Hopefully it is dependable and the magneto doesn't go out in a couple of years like our last one.

I am very surprised how well the air fryer works and easy to use. I see a lot of people asking about heating element and yes it has two of them. One at the top and one around the fan on the side. Over all solid unit and a great buy.

I have only owned this Microwave for a month but so far there have been zero problems with it. I owned the previous (older) version of this Microwave and was very happy with that one as well. Buy buying the newer version I was able to reuse all the existing mounting positions and didn't have to drill any new holes in to the wall or cabinet, which made the installation go quickly.

I was looking for a microwave to replace our broken one, and I decided to go with Whirlpool because I’m tired of buying cheaper ones made my cellphone companies that quit working as soon as the warranty expires. I spent some time looking at different models and ended up going with this one in hopes that I could clear up some counter space by getting one with multiple functions. This model isn’t available on Amazon, so it doesn’t seem like there is a price anchor for different stores to use as a benchmark. I checked the two big home improvement stores and Best Buy, and it was significantly cheaper here than anywhere else. The exact same model cost 50% more at the blue store. It was exactly $1.00 cheaper at the orange store, but Best Buy was offering a $50 gift card to go along with it, so I bought it here. It was delivered in two days, so as soon as it arrived I mounted it above my range. I needed to remove the old wall mount and install this new one and I had to drill new holes in then cabinet above to mount the screws. The cardboard template that you cut out of the shipping box made this very easy because everything aligned perfectly. The microwave itself is pretty awesome. I tried air frying some frozen French fries the moment I had it all installed and they came out perfectly. Crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. After that, I tried baking cookies using the convection oven. I used a round pizza pan and some premade cookie dough, and again they came out perfectly. Of course, it microwaves food really well, too. This oven is very powerful, at 1,800W. It will cook food a little faster than most microwave ovens, so adjust your timing accordingly. Still, it’s very quiet compared to others that I have used. It’s not silent, but it makes much less noise while running. There are three different heating elements inside this oven. There is of course the microwave magnetron, but there is also a resistive heating element in the side (also 1,800W) for baking and a third element in the ceiling (1,000W) used for browning and air frying. Only one element will be used at any time. Note that during air frying, the oven will use microwaves to initially heat the food before switching to the ceiling element. I assume that this is to heat the food more quickly, but whatever the reason, it works well. You can tell when the microwaves stop and the ceiling element turns on because the top element makes light as well as heat. We tried out different things for about a week before we decided that we could put our dedicated air fryer away and free up some counter space. There wasn’t anything that we couldn’t air fry in this oven. We’ve been using it for baking whatever can fit in it. It doesn’t necessarily bake any better than our regular oven, but it uses a lot less energy. You still need to preheat the oven for 15 minutes, but this oven only consumes 1,800W while operating compared to our 4,500W range oven. Additionally, the heat from this oven is vented outside, compared to my real oven that lets the heat dissipate inside my home. It costs less to heat the food, and it doesn’t make my home’s AC work harder. The exhaust vent is also more powerful than other microwave ovens that we’ve used. It does a lot better job and sucking fumes from my range and venting them outside. We’ve been using this phone for a month now, and it’s really been a great appliance so far.

I've got the unit yesterday, so nothing to note about longevity except it was replacing a 6.5 year old whirlpool model that died. Installation was easy given this unit fit exactly the same as the previous unit. This model cooks a huge range of different foods and cooking styles. i made burgers, cookies, oatmeal, and hot chocolate so far. Also used auto defrost and auto soften. Those worked a little too well and I'll have to reduce the qty next time. Cookies were perfect every time. Burgers were dry but i think that's cause the defrost worked too well lol. I'll have to refine the process. My only real gripe right now is with Whirlpool itself. Their documentation is spartan and incomplete. It references accessories that can be added on but doesn't give part numbers for those. I figure fine, this is the day and age of the Internet. I'll go to their site. Their site page for the product has all the same stuff as the manual and no links or even references to their accessories like the not included wire rack. Best buys page is of not help here either. But it's like, hey folks, upsell opportunity here. I'm willing to spend more money! Link the accessories! Through hunting I've found knock off brands of some of the things i think the documentation is referencing, but I'm still not entirely sure. Also missing is resources to actually using the tech. I used the grill function following the Spartan manual but didn't know that that function uses both the grilling heating element and the magnetron. So the connection rack on the air fry rack as shown in their limited info resulted in some minimal sparks that i wasn't expecting. Finally, a set of usage guided recipes would be nice. Most of the air fryer recipes I've found are for formal air fryers. So I'm not sure how to adapt then to usage with this setup. For now it's gonna be trial and error but really the company should be providing the resources for using the various modes of operation for all of their unique product technologies. The customer shouldn't be experimenting unguided with technologies that could be used in dangerous combinations (like metal in the microwave mode or paper plates in a convection mode).

I am having a great time learning to cook with all the great features this microwave has. It fits exactly as specified, you installation people were excellent and it looks terrific. One thing I would change on all microwaves is having a lighted keypad, especially on black backgrounds. Hard to read in daytime and impossible at night without lights. Also, this unit was supposed to come with a middle rack and since the first one I bought didn’t have the rack Best Buy replaced the whole microwave with a new one. Well, the new one didn’t come with the rack either! I will be contacting Whirlpool!

I really wanted the air fryer and convection feature of this unit so I could replace a countertop version. I find this unit takes longer to preheat than the one I’m replacing. Convection bake needs 5 to 10 minutes longer to cook items I’m used to cooking in the other… microwave feature is very positive. All in all, I think this is overpriced now that I’ve had a chance to use it. The overall build quality is great and it looks great hanging under the range. I’ve freed up counter space but then again, it’s a compromise at a much higher price.

I have this microwave for several months now and it’s working perfectly I enjoy the features and the convenience of the air fryer I’m still learning how to use different setting’s,the microwave hood fan is strong also I love the handle on the door front, it's recessed on the side edge so the look is clean and it works out great. only thing I would improve the front with light as in night time I can barely see what I’m pressing on .

This microwave is the quietest I’ve ever seen or heard but the air fry is the worst. I can did a comparison with frozen hash browns and the ones in my cheap air fryer were crispy and golden ina bout 10 minutes and the one out of this microwave was soggy. For the amount we paid For this I’m disappointed.

Okay, I needed a microwave. The Samsung I had bit the dust after 8 years of normal use following the washer and dryer of the Samsung brand that was nothing but constant source of trouble. Last round of appliance purchases I went away from the Maytag/ Whirlpool brands with much regret. Thos unit is fantastic and does have a heating element and a convection fan. We completely dumped our air fryer and gained back much needed counter space. This untimdoes everything and does it well. We even grilled steaks in it and it was fantastic. Do not hesitate if your looking dor the one stop all in one. This is it and its Whirlpool / Maytag quality. This will be around for a very long time.

Love this microwave. Air fryer is nice. I like how you can actually see through the glass I couldn't see through my smaller one. I don't like how when you turn the fan on it goes full blast and you have to cycle all the way down several settings to turn it off again.
