    Great Washer for Price

I researched for weeks before anxiously deciding on a new washer. I chose this model because regardless of some negative reviews, I have used Whirlpool only and always been satisfied. I also don't believe everything I read- I'm not going to spend big bucks on the most popular brand with the highest rating because I'm sure even they have lemons too. Anyway- the washer works great. The sounds are quite different but you get used to them after a week or so. The first few loads I tried various settings and temperatures and waited to see what happened- the clothes were so clean and lovely. I can still smell the detergent also- so I'm not sure why some people experience a problem with not being able to smell their detergent. I also use very subtly fragranced all natural HE detergent and there is plenty of fragrance to the clothes after washing. If you need more water or are worried about the water level just choose the bulky item setting- it fills the machine mostly. I'm not sure why some people have complained that the washer can't be opened after starting a wash. You simply press the start button to pause the machine and the lid will unlock after a couple of seconds. You can open the machine at any time- although I haven't tried opening it while spinning. The machine is quieter than a traditional machine, quieter than a laundromat front loader, but has different noises related to sensing and spinning. The water also doesn't just spray into the machine but comes on and off. This is normal and the clothes do get clean. It washes delicates, old sneakers, rugs, handwashables, pt and kid stained items, towels, and everything else I've thrown into it just fine as well as comforters. However, I did have to wash my giant oversized comforter twice, but it barely fit in the machine. My comforter came out cleaner than had I taken it to the cleaners. Be aware that this washer holds a lot of clothes. You're supposed to load the clothes around the bottom but I've noticed no cleaning difference when just throwing the clothes straight into the machine. The capacity is the same as my last washer with an agitator but it holds so much more. You will have to dry your clothes longer, possibly two drying cycles, if you fill the washer completely full of towels for example. I don't mind this because Ilive having less loads to wash. It's great that you just throw the clothes in and press start. I do wish there was a time remaining indicator but understand why it's not included for the price. It doesn't take a tremendously long time to wash, depending on settings. The washer doesn't get stuck in the sensing mode for me as others have indicated a problem with that. Once the washer did have a few long minutes sensing but it was a bulky load of throw rugs- so I didn't begrudge the washer's confusion. Washing a regular medium fabric weight large load takes altogether about 30 minutes to an hour. A bulky load can take up to an hour longer. But you're washing about two regular loads of clothes at once so who cares. The washer doesn't stink- I make a habit of leaving the lid open after each wash- no problems. This washer doesn't spin as fast as costlier front loaders but it spins faster than a traditional model. The results are clothes that aren't twisted up like a front loaders and the clothes aren't dripping wet. Overall, I love this washer and am very thankful for it. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a top loader. I use the washer all day long- I have a large messy family of six and several pets! It gets all the stains out and I don't even have to use bleach or detergent boosters anymore :) oh- and Best Buy was great with delivery and set up!!! Free delivery, set up and take away saves money and is great customer service!

We have had our machine for about a month now. I bought it because of how good all the reviews were. The only bad reviews I saw- talked about how loud it is and how it doesn't clean clothes. I will admit it is loud, not as loud as my old one. I haven't had any problems with my clothes. They all come out good and clean. I think this machine is great for the cost. Sure you can pay double the price and get all the bells and whistles, and while I would like all that, I think this machine is wonderful. The settings are way better then my old one! I feel like it run good, and cleans good. I can hear it downstairs, while my washer is upstairs, but it just sounds like a phone vibrating with an occasional clicking of the sensor. For the price, I can deal with the sound. I think it's a great washer!

    Great HE washer

I have to say that I initially chose this washing machine because it met all my needs and was the perfect size. However, I was a little apprehensive to try out a high efficiency washer. After having this washer for merely a month I can say that all my apprehensions have fallen away. Being that this is my first HE washer, it was new to me to see how little water the washer used and how quietly it operated. But I have noticed that my clothes come out cleaner, smell better and are practically dry once you pull them out- which allows them to be in the drier for a shorter amount of time (saving even more energy). Now I don't have to separate the loads by color, only by heavy or delicate loads; Colors dont bleed or fade away. Addtionally I can wash ANY size load- small or large. It even has a quick wash cycle for when my son decides to throw up on his blanky and I need a quick fix. All in all I am ecstatic about my washer and have no complaints/regrets. If you're considering getting this washer, look no more and just get it. It's worth it, I assure you.

This is the noisiest washer I have ever owned, and although it cleaned the clothes, it has limitations in the cycle combinations (you can't do a delicate/bulky combination for example.) I always had to use the second rinse option or soap would not totally come out. Now, the machine is almost 2 years old, and is leaking some type of oil or transmission fluid. Was not heavily used.

This is a nice washer with all of the features we need. It was on sale so we got it at a good price. The delivery guy set it up and gave us new water hoses, both of which, we did not pay for. Excellent service. It ran great, for two weeks, then it quit working. We made a repair appointment with Whirlpool. The technican said the pump had gone out, he replaced it and it has worked fine every since. It was a warranty repair so it didn't cost anything. It does a great job of washing our clothes and it is so quiet you don't even know it's running. Despite the pump going out, I still highly recommend this washer.

I so far really like this washer. I think it is a nice upgrade for us without having to pay for the highest level of washing machine. Our old washing machine would move around a lot and this one stays put. I was concerned with the high efficiency washer and less water, it may leave soap spots on my clothes. So far, I have only had one piece of clothing come out with blue spots left on it from the soap. But, I am switching to free and clear laundry soap so I won't have to worry about the spots. I'm looking forward to seeing if I will save a little on my water bill but it is still too soon to tell at this point. The washer is a little louder than I would have liked but it's not terrible. This washer doesn't have the agitator in the middle so it's supposed to be easier on your clothing. So, it's a nice upgrade for me without having to pay for the highest level of machine.

I asked an appliance technician friend to recommend a model of a washer for me. I explained that I was interested in a High Efficiency model and gave him a couple of models. He explained that the best value comes in a machine that is basic in design. He prefers Whirlpool models as they have a history of being very good. In the end he said this model would go a long way without me having to see him. I am impressed with the way the washer works. There is a little finesse needed when loading, but my clothes have been washed completely every time and are nearly dry when I take them out. It is very efficient. So far I like it and am happy with the choice.

I purchased this machine, on sale, to replace a 13 year old, top loader with an agitator that died. I have had the machine for nearly one month. I chose a top loader over a front loader because you can stop the machine to toss add another item though there is a bit of a wait to do so. The spin cycle removes so much moisture from each load that my (old) electric dryer doesn't have to run nearly as long as it did with the old conventional top-loading machine. That means I am saving on both washing and drying clothes! The only down side is that pant legs seem to twist together so getting clothes from washer to dryer takes a little more effort. As a bonus, the Best Buy sales associate and the delivery crew were extremely professional and helpful.Overall, I am happy with the product and would highly recommend this model to a friend.

We've had this wash machine for about a month now, so far so good. Different sound than our last one, not necessarily louder, just more mechanical. I had to get used to not lifting the lid to add more laundry as the tub is filling. However, you can pause it, and do that. I tend not to, because I don't want to give the sensor the extra wear and tear. It holds a really large amount of laundry, without feeling like you are overloading the machine. The washing machine lid is a bit flimsier than our old washer, as I found out, when I sat on it the first time.....had to check out the 'new vibrations'!!! LOL! We like it. ;)

I had a very limited space to work with, so this washer was one of the few that I had to choose from. It does what it's supposed to do and it's easy to use with good capacity. My only complaint is that it's super loud during the wash cycle (so much so, I thought maybe something was wrong with it). People who say otherwise must have it in an out-of-the-way room. If you're in a small apartment or condo, you will hear this machine. The spin cycle is also so powerful that clothes come out stuck to the machine's sides and will be very wrinkled if you plan to air dry. Other than those minor issues, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

This washer has a lot of space, so you can wash huge loads of laundry. It is a bit noisy, but I guess that's the feature when it needs to "Detect" the clothes. Also, you need to put in the detergent first before you put in the clothes. But other than that, it is a great washer! Water efficient too!

I've enjoyed this new washer. My only 2 things I am not crazy about is first of all the LOUD noise! Oh my goodness. I replaced a set off Craigslist that I got for like $100 and even that washer, as old as it was, was much more quiet than this new one. Unfortunately there is only a sliding door to our utility room so that doesn't really help with the sound at all. Just be prepared to turn your tv up several notches. Also, you have to use a Downy ball for liquid softener. This came sometimes leaves a mess if all the softener doesn't come out during the cycle.

I bought this washer because the one I had so many issues. I wanted something that would clean, but was inexpensive. This was a perfect washer for my goal. It is not the most quiet washer, but after closing the door and walking away from it the noise is manageable. There are different settings that I appreciate. My only concern is how it cleans heavily soiled clothes (i.e. softball grass stains, etc). I've noticed that I've had to wash things heavily soiled twice.

This is a very nice washer and is updated with new features than the older ones. I like that I can just toss it in with the detergent and its ready to go. I do not like that I have to use a Downy ball and that I cannot rinse the old way. The lid locks and so you cannot get into it without cancelling the wash cycle. It spins the clothes really tight so I have to unwind them before they go in the dryer. It is more quiet and quicker than my old machine.

This washer was an uprgade for my mother. We wanted to find her something that would save on energy and water usage. Great product other than the fact it locks while washing. You can pause the machine to add more clothes though

The washer was not quite what we were used to. Things like the delay at the beginning of the wash cycle, the lid lock, and the lack of a cycle end buzzer took some getting used to. Otherwise, it does a good job with the washing. We got it for a good price, and the delivery was handled very well. Overall, we are pleased with our new washer.

Like the basic washer, good price and compared on line to similar machines with same simple options. didn't need fancy machine and at this cost, after having a machine for 29 years it was time to replace, I hope I can get a long life on this unit as well. I like the lower agitator on the machine makes easier to get larger items in unit.

Our 7 year old Maytag dryer died on us with an estimated $200 to fix it. So we started looking for a new washer dryer pair. We got this during a Columbus Day sale, and it was $150 off the regular price. So glad we got it. It is quiet, and does a great job washing clothes. We have 2 small kids and 2 dogs, so we are using this thing all the time. Thus far it hasn't disappointed. Even got out some dried on hot sauce stain which is maybe worse than trying to get out permanent marker!

One day while during laundry my washing machine "konked" out on me...in MID WASH!! Aside from the small panic attack, I removed my soaking wet clothes and began to scoop the water out. Once I got myself together, I sat down at my computer and immediately went to BestBuy.com and started searching for new washers. The whirlpool that I found had great reviews and was affordable. It was similar in size to my former washing machine. I have to say that the staff at the Bowie location were not only knowledgeable about the washing machine but were courteous and professional. After they answered my questions, I was definitely more confident in knowing that I had picked the right washing machine. I purchased the washer and it was delivered to me in about two days with installation and free haul a way. Good Job Best Buy!!

This is whole new technology so we were a bit skeptical. It turns out it works very well. You put in the clothes and soap, close the lid and push a button. For several minutes the washer measures the size of the load so it knows how much water to use. This involves unusual beeping, but it works. We had Front load washer and dryer because that was the water saving , good system 9 years ago when we bought the set. We had them on pedestals to improve access. However, this new top load is easier to fill and unload into the dryer. You can easily see if you have all the clothes out. The only improvement I would suggest is a loud buzz to tell you the load has finished. We set a timer and it works out ok, but it is an extra step. We end up running more small loads since it measures how much you are running.
