I had old, high-end stereo with 2 great speakers inside and 2 smaller outside speakers that only go outside, as needed. Advisor came to my home and sold me just what I needed. Quality sound for a fraction of the cost back in the day. Geek squad hooked up receiver, CD. All performing nicely.

I bought the Yamaha receiver as a replacement for my outdoor speakers that are mounted on the ceiling on my 3 season porch; replacing my older unit. I got this unit as open box return at a very good price. The Bluetooth works great paired with my iPhone now I can independently listen to satellite radio for music sports and what ever I have connected to it. But now no static from over the air antennas. It also has a good amplifier section much better than the other unit clean and powerful. And it’s a Yamaha

Before purchasing Amp I knew this wasn't a true 100 Watt per Channel Amp, Yamaha like others in this price range mess with the numbers. Real Power output? Maybe 30-50 Watts per channel and truth be told they're not even real impressive watts. The Sound is lacking/thin. I have a Yamaha R-S700 with a real 100 watts per Channel and it walks all over this little receiver but it also cost me around 4 time more than this. Got this for the Garage, it'll do good out there, paired with 90 db speakers or better it does alright, with my 99 db Klipsch Heresy speakers this amp manages to approach respectable but those speakers can make a 6 watt amp sound like a giant. This amp won't handle running 2 pair A+B of speakers very long it recommends not going lower that 8 ohm speakers, 2 pairs of 8 ohm speakers is a 4 ohm load and driven at loud volumes the amp will not last. This is a sub-entry level 2 channel receiver at a decent price. If you want a real entry level 2 channel Receiver start looking at about the 400 dollar level on up. This is a cheap amp that does play and has Yamaha's Look and Name but falls short on what I would call the classic Yamaha Sound. Places for an amp like this? Garage, Shed, Kids room... you get the idea.

This Yamaha unit has a clean amplifier and sufficient power to drive
the speakers I use. Good bang for your buck. I am able to hook up
all my applicable audio sources and the tuner is sufficient for my needs. The only drawback is if you want to hook up a turntable without a preamp to this unit, this will not work for you because it has no phono jack. Hooking up a seperate preamp between the turntable and stereo receiver may be an option.

Sound is great! I have my tv, Xbox, record player and Blu-ray hooked up to this unit and the sound is phenomenal for the price. I have two 12” subs with mid and high tweeters in boxes hooked. I can hear my system literally down the street with my doors closed @ 70% volume. Bass and treble are adjustable.

Got this and a small set of polk bookshelf speakers (S15) to improve the sound of my father's TV. Works well--sound is much clearer and better quality that soundbars imo. The remote keys are tool small though imo. This is obviously stereo and there is no surround sound...but we didn't need that. Just clean stereo sound, Huge improvement,
