I'm a 1st time Yamaha electronics buyer other than a dirt bike I owned back in the early 80's. For now, it's sounds pretty good.

So...this is not a high end receiver. I have some high end Def Tech speakers in my theater room where there just isn't enough power from this receiver. What I will say for my application this is a phenomenal receiver. It has a quality feel and look. I use this to power my pool and garage speakers. I have a pair of polk atrium 6's and a pair of def tech 5500's. In the garage I have 2 ceiling monoprice speakers. I run all my speakers through a Niles SSVC-4 to match the impedance. Zero issues and sound quality is excellent. Again power isn't going to blow you away, but for ambiance around pool and deck its amazing. It does get loud, don't get me wrong, just not dance club loud. And under $150??? Can't be beat.

I bought this receiver to replace a 32 year Yamaha receiver that stopped working. I feel the old receiver had a tad more clarity, definition and open sound however the new one excels at very high volumn. The sound of the radio is excellent and even tho Bluetooth wasn't a reason I bought it, I am using that feature a lot, You can adjust bass & treble from the remote as well as the faceplate. If Yamaha is listening how about a 'loudness' or midrange control as well as a dedicated phono input!

This is a great receiver! I connected it to my 40 year old Realistic speakers (about 24 inches high and 12 inches wide) and it drove them perfectly. It also integrates seamlessly with my Amazon Echo Dot and allows me to play my Amazon Music collection any time.

Although I like the sound of Yamaha, I like the idea of having more control than my 1980's version. I put this baby through the test and it past with screamin colors, and I mean screamin. If it's too loud yer too old, I'm 71 and didn't want to be bothered by the cops so I turned it down. You know how it is, you just got to crank it up for that special rockin tune or it just don't sound right. I like the thump I feel in the floor, it goes great with Bose, clear as any fuzzbox or wahwah pedal or Moog synthesizer. Great purchase, makes me feel good, almost better than sex.

Bought to power 2 Klipcsh SCR1 roung 8" speakers in outdoor ceiling. 8ohm, 50 watt, 200 watt peak each. Bluetooth works great and power produces great sound. Convienent Bass-Treble adjustment on remote and face of unit. Only drawback is infrared remote. Unable to control outside if not in line of sight. An IFR would be a great enhancement to its utility. Can use phone bluetooth volume control to manage it. Also screen is too small to read unless you're 2 feet away. But a great price and quality sound.

Receiver was an answer to my musical tastes. It plays all input abilities in top quality and even the turn table you get that cool feel of how a LP should sound. Very much happy.
