I have an older Yamaha (which I also bought from BestBuy) and thought that this would be a good upgrade since it has the newest HDMI version. Once I got it hooked up I discovered that it really wasn't much of an improvement over my older Yamaha and a big disappointment for me was the size of the display. The display size is half the size of the display size on my older Yamana. It is a nice unit , but it wasn't the best fit for me.

I bought the Yamaha Rx-v6a on a open box sale. I loved how my music sounded and was happy with watching movies. I put on Top gun with atmos and every time the jets flew overhead the ceiling speakers would crack and no sound would come out of any speakers. I googled the problem and there were alot of complaints on this issue with the Rx-v6a. I returned the reciever and purchased the Sony Str an1000. I did not like the sound from the Sony compared to the Yamaha. The bass was over powering and you could tell it was coming from the subwoofer ( not matched with the speakers). Thanks to Best buy's return policy, I returned the Sony and upgraded to the Onkyo RZ50. I now have no buyers remorse and am happy with the sound. I also can now upgrade to 5.2.4 and have the option of 7.2.4 If you are looking for a Receiver to mostly play music thia is a great choice.

This product is great! I arrived at the Best Buy at the Southpoint location area. Just looking. I was in the market at that time for a receiver, however wasn't looking to do it before Christmas. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and helpful. He didn't speak to me like he was selling to an inexperienced female shopper. He gave me all the respect. I purchase from that location because it was user friendly clean and respectful. I even opened a credit card. Excellent experience. I will be visiting again soon.

This would had been a 5-Star but until we get the 8K over the air update it would be a 4-Star. And yes, we can download the update or use a usb.
So far, I have been using this receiver for the past 2 months and I really like it. The sound its amazing using Dolby Atmos. Its simple, has 7 Hdmi inputs and 1 Hdmi output. The menu is a bit slow but not to worry, It can be access thru its IP address and its much easier to configure if needed. Looks futuristic as far design goes. I have no complains so far. Yamaha did it this time.

Awesome receiver..the sound is amazing. A tad hard to control using the buttons on the receiver, otherwise it is an amazing piece of tech. Highly recommend.

I bought this receiver to replace an older Yamaha that I had for 10 Years. Right out of the box, this receiver sounded great.
Clear, crisp detailed sound especially from games and movies. Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks I started having HDMI issues and had to return it

I am really liking this receiver. It replaced my Yamaha 675, time for an upgrade like with all electronics. My 675 had separate buttons for HDMI source options, this control doesn’t. It also had picture icons for set-up and management, which was fun and easier for me to understand. I still love it. I can bi-amp my Klipsch speakers and play with Dolby Atmos. Oh boy.

So far so good! It sounds really good and is plenty loud enough to blast out some great music and watch some cinematic movies. For the price it is a good buy compared to other A/V receivers.

This A/V receiver could be the market's best value-for-money pick, offering excellent sound quality and robust power. However, it's not without flaws. The user interface feels outdated, and it's not the most intuitive—this could be a letdown for users expecting a modern touch. Additionally, the HDMI bandwidth is limited to 24 Gbps, which may concern those wanting to connect more advanced gaming systems like a PS5 or a PC with an RTX4090. This limitation could be a significant compromise for enthusiasts seeking to push their equipment to the limits. Despite these issues, for those prioritizing sound quality and power on a budget, this receiver remains a strong contender.

Wow! This is an incredibly powerful receiver with the beautiful, warm tones for which Yamaha is known. Easy to setup and, having bought this as an "open item," a great value!

I generally have stuck with Yamaha Models and got this for far less than the listed price.
Most Receivers are over priced these days as they offer fewer features and cost more.
This has all the features but should probably run about 200 less than it's currently listed for.
I don't like the look on the front and lacks physical buttons for things and hence the 4 star review
Performs great though, Yamaha's lower end models are missing things like this has.
Banana plugs for all speaker outputs (this should be

If you want this receiver to take advantage of everything hdmi 2.1 can do. Just keep moving along. In fairness Yamaha has said they will take care of the faulty hdmi 2.1 issue. But I don’t want to keep this product waiting for them to fix it. Hence why I gave it 3 stars. The receiver looks great and is easy to set up.
I couldn’t even get a Xbox series x to display properly with the settings at 4k 60 and switch inputs properly. If this worked it would have been a great value and everything I needed. I was optimistic but it just didn’t deliver.

Good looks. Great sound. Easy to set up and switch between sources. GUI could be a bit better. Don't worry about a small display; between that and the TV screen, you can see all you need to see. I bought this after my Onkyo TX-NR686 stopped working, and this sounds better to me. If you don't want to spend $1,500 or more for a good sounding AVR, can't go wrong here.

I bought this reciever because of it's 4k@120hz option that will come in a future upgrade. Since my LG C1 TV is 4k@120 hz I figured I'd future proof my purchase. The features are easy to use and the sound quality is AMAZING! This reciever is made in Malaysia. I've learned over the years that this is the country you want to buy electronics from. Japan's quality is inferior. This reciever is very hard to find in stock at Bestbuy. If you can get your hands on one DO IT you wont regret it!
