Always satisfied with yamaha's products. This receiver definitely outperforms in every way. It has phenomenal Atmos surround sound and great HDMI control. The remote is a little lacking but I end up using control remotes or the TV remote anyways.

Super easy to set up and get running. Excellent sound quality, especially for the cost. Does not have any composite or component video inputs, so dot plan on connecting older equipment (I was able to find a Wii adapter to HDMI for connection). You will need the remote for some functionality.

Nice sound, easy to connect to our pc & phones. Liked the preamp outs on the fronts because I might get a high end amp for the fronts later on; that was one particular feature I was looking for and you usually only find on more expensive receivers. Only thing I might complain about is the setup menu has kind of a crude / clunky interface, they could have done better with that.

I am very pleased with this receiver. Sound quality is exceptional. The setup was easy and the microphone used to balance my speakers worked perfectly. This is my third Yamaha receiver. Each one has given me many hours of pleasure watching movies and streaming videos.

I needed a new receiver and I have been very happy with Yamaha receivers for many years. I was not disappointed. The receiver works like my washer, dryer and microwave with a knob to make the selection and push to select. The receiver makes the sound, the microwave makes the popcorn. Being a Yamaha, the menus were very similar and that made it easy to set up and use.

Good value state of the art features and modern look make this reciever appealing. Solid reviews in Sound and Vision Magazine as well. Menu display could be better. Sounds great!

Easy to set up. Lots of features. The app works great. The whole reason we chose this was for Spotify connect (Sony does not have) but I may now turn into a Yamaha fan.

Decided to replace my Sony STR-DN1040 and I initially started with the Denon AVR-S750H per Wirecutter’s lofty view of Denon. Everything about it - from the look, to the interface, to the menu system, to the sound - underwhelmed. Noticed a local Best Buy had an open-box Yamaha for a hard to pass on price and I returned the Denon and picked up the Yamaha within less than 24 hours. So far I really like the Yamaha. Looks GREAT!, sounds good, and the future proofing with the 8k compatible HDMIs is icing on the cake. I have not experienced the HDMI issues that a lot of people have described. However, I noticed that on occasion when using a Logitech harmony (remote and/or app) to switch from an HDMI input to live tv (TCL Series 8, eARC connection) I’ll get video but no sound. Turning off the receiver and turning it back on fixes the issue. Not sure if this a Yamaha issue or a TCL issue so I didn’t dock any stars from Yamaha. In all fairness it should be a 4.5 but since it’s not available I went with a 5.

Easy to set up. Image quality gets improved as well as incredible and natural sound generated by this receiver. Also Best Buy had the best price deal available in the country!

Perfect in every way except shuts off with no way to stop it from auto shut off. Other than that it's Yamaha it's emblem is 3 tuning forks. No truer emblem

Got this as a geek squad open box. Great value. I like the versatility with zone 2 speaker setup and musicast app. Setup (software) can be confusing, but it eventually “works”. Overall, pleased with the product and Best Buy.

Awesome product! But best made it easy to get when other vendors couldn’t. Busy best has established themselves as a staple for all things audio, video and appliance.

At first I did not like the setup out of the box, the display is small to read, after getting her set up the playback early using Van Halens Fair Warning album as the first music played, very happy with it performance, clean driven channels.
I would recommend this for the price, its a very solid A/V receiver

First AVR. I bought this based on specifications. There are a lot of settings. I would have appreciated a better guide or documentation in how to optimize the settings, or a user interface that would explain what each function does. Getting a Roku to display thru AVR to my projector is sometimes difficult. Eventually the screen lights up. The music cast app has been fun for listening to music from Amazon. Pretty cool I can turn on from another room but it’s a lot of clicks to select another genre, station, artist, song, etc. But it sends power to the speakers just like it says it will.
