bought this for Christmas for my dad with two tower speakers, speakers work great! AV Receiver is complete trash! worked for about two weeks then returned it for an exchange of the same unit because the EARC stopped working. I tried numerous different troubleshooting scenarios spent hours on this before I returned it,. like different HDMI cord that was brand new and higher quality didn't work also tried just an optical cord it didn't work either. when I exchanged it for a new unit it was even worse hooked up all my speakers it got no sound out of the box with both optical and HDMI hook ups again spent hours messing with all the settings even plugging it into a different TV and other possible scenarios to ultimately decided tonight that I will be returning this unit and going with a different brand of Receiver with hopes of not encountering the same problem. usually I'm impressed with yamaha, but they must have cut a lot of corners on this unit! Best Buy I highly recommend you stop selling this unit with hopes of saving other people the same headache !

Yamaha has long been the best and remains so with this new receiver.

Honestly the best reciever i've had. Bought this as an entry for next-gen consoles ( HDMI 2.1 support and EARC support saves so many headaches. ) Recievers often have so many small "handshake" issues where things just don't turn on, but this thing is so little maintenance. I've only had to reboot the thing a couple times ( aside from daily turning on / off ) Works wonderfully inside my home. EARC support is great. If you need it, get it.

Great entry level receiver. The Yamaha RX-V6A has many features only found on high end receivers.

Great reciever, many capabilities, simple setup & operation.

I’ve had this for about a month and I still think it sounds great for the price point.

Does what it says it will do. Every now and then it takes a few minutes to actually turn on and display input to the TV. It does eventually come on after the TV blinks for a bit on and off and then the sound cuts on.
