If you love action, adventure and thrills, and you love watching trains, then this film is for you.

Excellent 1980s action movie!
Underrated action movie from 1985. With only 3 main characters and taking place mostly on a train, this movie by Russian director Andrey Konchalovskiy is a classic! I didn’t expect to like it that much, but Voight and Roberts elevate it from a simple action movie to something much deeper. The circumstances for being on the train and for the train being driverless are interesting. Besides the suspense of how the train will be stopped and who will survive, it is also a battle between personalities. The Shakespeare quote at the end is very poignant, “No beast so fierce but knows some touch of pity. But I know none, and therefore am no beast."
Not really what I expected. Much better. One of Eric Roberts earlier movies. He and Jon Voight are really good in this film. Great suspense. Not for timid ears as they use the f word quite a bit but otherwise nothing too bad. I really enjoyed it and will likely watch it many more times.
