I'm Not Impressed (S2 v S4)
Many years ago, I purchased the Tab S2 9.7 along with the official Samsung Book Cover. It is solid and sturdy with a powerful magnet that holds the cover closed and maintain rigidity while in its folded forms (2 of them). For last years Tab S4, Samsungs book cover has its pros, but mostly its mostly mediocre and only because the pen holder hasn't failed (yet). Pros - for starters, this years Tab S doesn't have the gromets that snap onto the cover. It holds onto the tablet like a frame, you tuck the corners into it and it press-fits by friction. This also shields, somewhat, the corners from any bumps from knicks or scratches, unlike the S2's. It is somewhat lighter than the S2's and has a removeable S-Pen cradle/holder. A lot of reviews mention that the pen falls out all of the time, but I haven't experienced that yet. I feel that those reviewers weren't pushing it in far enough to feel the snap that grabs onto the pen. It probably takes about five pounds of force to pull it out. There is also a cutout for the camera that was lacking on the S2's cover. None of the ports (usb/speakers/microSD), buttons, or speakers are blocked so access to them is right on and you can experience the beautiful sound as it should be. Cons - the case is lighter because it is flimsy. The S2's case was sturdy because it had a nice piece of sheet metal inside. This one doesn't. The magnets break contact at the slightest of movement while in its folded form, and there is only one option for folding it. The magnets do not hold the cover closed because there is no second flap that folds over to adhear the magnets (might be a pro for some). It is still expensive, moreso than all of the other options that advertise better protection. For my use case, it will be on my desk at work or in my hands at home. I'm not planning on using this tablet whilist on the go. I hope that I don't drop it anytime at all and I hope that the cover will last the many years as did the S2's Book Cover. Time will tell. BTW - I connected a USB-C adapter that is an HDMI 4K/SD/MicroSD/USB3.0 hub which is what is displayed on the monitor to the left. Dex is awesome.

Flimsy and way overpriced.
I'm a big fan of Samsung. From TV to laptops and tablets and always happy with the products until now. I just recently purchased a Tab S4 and its genuine cover. While I'm happy with the tablet, however, its cover is a disappointment. Very flimsy, feels cheap and looks cheap. The magnet is weak, couldn't hold tablet steady, it constantly collapsed, especially while using tablet in bed. Only 2 positions are available. The pen's holder sucks, regardless which end I tried to insert, pen always dropped. I guarantee you'll loose the pen if you are not paying attention to it. Compared to my Tab S cover which I'm still using it occasionally, this one is not even close or worth it. For the price close to $50 including tax, it's wayyy overpriced. I think I'll have to buy a compatible one for a 1/3 of the price and it would work much better than this. Lesson learned. Would definitely NOT RECOMMEND.

Perfect Fit
Bought this to go with my Tab S4. If fits my Tab S4 perfectly. It protects the corners amid bank. One minor problem is the book cover only had one good way to support the tablet in streams mode. With the tablet in the lowest support mode, it's hard to reach the volume & power button because it is under the tablet in the sport mode.
