I bought this as a second way to rip DVD's onto my computer. My old disk drive just wasn't cutting, taking nearly 10 hours per movie. Bought this one and it takes about 2 hours per movie. So quick. It's light, it's fast, it's certainly portable.
Only problem is the noise. Louder than I'd like, but it's not noisy, per say.
However, I would not purchase for $80. I got mine on sale for about $35.
