Q: Does this phone work on any carrier if I purchase the phone outright?
A: No. This is a Verizon "Branded" phone, Verizon does not "lock" phones like other cell phone carriers, so it can be used with almost any carrier, but this is primarily a CDMA phone, NOT a GSM phone. While it may work with a GSM carrier (T-Mobile or AT&T) it does not have access to all the frequencies that a typical GSM phone would. Coverage and reception quality would be greatly reduced. Your best bet is to look for "unlocked" phones, as they have transmitters and receivers for both GSM and CDMA (NOTE: not all "unlocked" phones are CDMA capable, please use caution when researching options, as some manufacturers bury this deep in the specifications or descriptions)
A: I have had no problems with volume on my phone, it's been great!
A: Android IS a smart phone. I had the S7 a couple years ago. I think they are up to a 9 now just like Apple. The J7 is just a different model than a S7. Store clerks don't clarify the difference. I feel it is bigger and slower. The reaction time on the touch screen is delayed. It's like a lower quality version in my opinion. The new way that they charge for phones kept me from upgrading to what I had before. This is about 400 cheaper.

A: No memory card. 16GB internal memory. You can add a memory card. If a memory card is installed, all pictures default to the memory card automatically. Saving internal memory.
Q: Does this phone work with Verizon prepaid if I buy the phone at full price?
A: yes , you would just buy a prepaid sim kit .
A: The J-7 I purchased at Best Buy was plastic and not metal. Perhaps the picture you were viewing was of a different version? I'm very happy with my phone thus far.
A: Well...unfortunately there is no built in light to show charging or missed message, etc. There is a 3 dollar app you can get that will do this. Kind of crazy, and a poor decision by Samsung, but that's the way it is.
