Definitely not worth the money!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was thinking about buying the Samsung All-Share Cast ($80), so I went to Best Buy. They didn't have it, but they did have this item. It looked great, but the Samsung guys didn't really seem to know a lot about it. They couldn't make a number of the features work correctly, but assured me that was because they were unable to access the internet because of Best Buy's in-store restrictions and that the device would work beautifully once outside the store. I even brought my Galaxy Note 10.1 with me to see if it was compatible. The Samsung reps sync'd my tablet with the smart TV (not the HomeSync) and said, "See, it works!!" Once I got it home, guess what didn't work? Yeah, the tablet. Even though my tablet is less than a year old, the HomeSync would only work with the newest Samsung tablets - no backward compatibility for devices over 6 months old. Real value there. I was eventually able to get my phone to work with the device (Galaxy Mega), but then only intermittently and the apps were awful. The device is three times the price of an Apple iTV, but it can't even run Netflix or other common apps. It offers a 1TB HDD onboard, supposedly so you can store all of your info from all your devices on the HomeSync, like having your own personal home cloud. This sounds great, but the HomeSync only allows very limited access to the HDD and since it's not compatible with 90% of the rest of Samsung's own products, it's worthless. I was extremely disappointed with this piece of equipment and returned it as soon as possible the next day. Maybe Samsung will wise up and patch the crummy software this thing is running and expand its "accepted" list of compatible devices for those of us who don't update our tech every other month. Until then, I'd definitely recommend you spend your $300 on something else. This is definitely not worth the time or the headache.

Great product to make a tv "Smart TV"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product to make a TV a "Smart TV"! Interacts with Galaxy tablets through mirroring function to access all the tablet's content. Only wish there were more apps such as Netflix and HBO to Go. Was told that they should be on a future update.

Got this to connect all devices in our house
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We can all connect and watch/listen/download pictures but the apps are lacking on this. Netflix, hulu, and so many other apps are not available for this system yet because Samsung is still working through the licensing for this product. That is a big downside for us. You can control this thing via a remote on your phone or tablet and that takes some getting used to. On the plus side, I can connect to it from anywhere I go and it has a ton of storage. I would only recommend buying if you are willing to wait out the licensing and fixes. If not, the wait till they do. I see a lot of promise in this product I just hope Samsung doesn't let me down.

It is great for backing up device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it to back up Pic and video from phone and it works great. I lost Pic from phone died and it wipe SD card, now that will not happen. The device was easy to setup, can view content from the road, backup happens automatically. It also turn you TV in to a smart TV, it has android play store, so it has all apps needed. Your phone becomes the homesync remote. Works very well. It was worth buying.

Great Android TV box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this box from the way it looks and the design. Work great, the only thing I don't know why some Android apps that work on Android phones but can't install on this box, error "The device is incompatible .....". I was able to download XBMC via browser (not via Google Play) and install, XBMC works well on this device.

Great Device for HTPC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little device to run as a HTPC. The 1 TB of space is a big plus in this set--up, and it is simple to set up. The only negative part is that the device has no dedicated remote!

Q: QuestionAccessing files with non-samsung devicesCan a non-samsung device be used to access media & files you store on the HomeSync? Does it have similar functions as other network storage media devices like: - DNLA streaming? - UPnP access? - Samba file sharing? - AFP? - NFS? - FTP? Or is samsung trying to make the files you store on the 1TB only accessible from other new samsung devices?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer There is a Samsung Link PC application (compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7/8 [RT not supported]) which allows a user to access their HomeSync content from their PC. Non-Samsung mobile devices and Macintosh computers are not supported at this time. Does it have similar functions as other network storage devices? • DLNA streaming = Yes • UPnP access = No • Samba File sharing = Yes, if you install a 3rd party application from the Google or Samsung App Stores. • AFP = No • NFS = No • FTP = Yes, if you install a 3rd party application from the Google or Samsung App Stores --Mr.Samsung

I have gone through all the settings, with no luck. And I'm unable to see my homegroup shared files anywhere!

Without more information, it's difficult to imagine where you might be running into trouble, and a live support option would be more helpful than this format. Q: Questioncan i stream movies straight from my samsung tablet to this device to be seen on my tv
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, for the most part. HomeSync turns any TV into an AllShare Play (DLNA) compatible TV. If your tablet/smartphone are on the same wireless network as HomeSync, the AllShare Play icon should appear in the corner of the movie playback app; when you tap it, playback will be transferred to the TV. Some contents’ DRM may prevent AllShare Play from playing the movie back. Mr. Samsung
