Better than the rest
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work heavily while being mobile and give presentations. It's very easy to use, I like the keyboard and weight is prefect. Some don't care for the wide distance from the bottom of the screen to the keyboard but it's perfect for your thumb to rest on while you flip it, a smart design in my eyes. I'm still tweaking things to see how long the battery can really go but again, I'm a heavy user and so far I've eeked out 8 hrs. I think I could get a little more as I continue to fine tune my use. Cons would be it does show finger prints easily but that's what wipes are for anyway. I should note I tested a surface pro4 and returned it for this after heavily researching the yoga, spectre, and others in its class. The only one I might have opted for is the Dell because of the keyboard material not being metal, but I didn't want to do special order and have to wait.

Spin VS Dell XPS.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Walked into Bestbuy to take home a Dell XPS 13.3. I5, 256 GB. Got my eye on this one and changed my mind. About the laptop: Pros: Amazing screen/display, love the matte/anti Glare Finish on the screen. Dell XPS is super glossy. The laptop is light, strong and does not heat up. Used it on my lap for about 4 hrs straight and dint feel a thing. The Fan is between the hinge VS the back on XPS. Love the way it is built too. The keyboard is lovely tooo, spacious and smooth feel for the click. One of the main reasons I dint go with XPS.( Felt the keys are small N Cluttered and not so happy with the Trackpad.). This one has a pretty good Track pad too. Has a full size HDMI on such a thin Device. Pairs well with my Samsung 4K TV. Had issues with my Sony Vaio. Smooth update process. Minimal bloatware. Con: The display looks great but somehow my white web pages has a tinge of yellow/creamy shade in it. Not sure if I have to change the default color settings or if its because of the anti glare screen. ( please help me out if you have an answer) Battery Life: 4 hrs max in 75% brightness mode of continuous browsing. not a big fan, but works for me. Shows longer life with lesser brightness and lesser resolution settings. But I like the QHD feel to it. The Dell XPS looks amazing with the infinity display, a complete head turner. i7 processor, anti glare, Better track pad/Keyboard, Flip mode, Better availability of ports, HDMI (XPS has no HDMI) are what helped me change over...

Amazingly small and fast ultrabook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially bought the Dell XPS13 as it was my first choice, mainly due to the attributes it shares with the Samsung Book 9 Spin: Ultraportable, SSD and I7 processor. The XPS13 bricked on me on the 3rd day of owning it, and after an extremely frustrating week dealing with Dell CS... I returned it never to return. I started my search again for a new laptop and was shocked when I found the Samsung. I don't know how or why it evaded my weeks of searching prior to the Dell, but it had. Luckily browsing Best Buy I found this laptop and even better yet, I was able to go to a store and get my hands on one prior to purchasing. The Book 9 spin is every bit as compact as the Dell. The keyboard is very solid, though a bit shallow on key depth for my taste, but it is not a problem. The display is amazing, and WOW can it get bright in the "daylight mode" upwards of 750 nit! I wish they had a 16gb Ram version, and would have liked to be able to upgrade to a 512gb SSD at the same time, but I will just change the drive out when the time comes, and will have to deal with the RAM since it is not upgradeable. The I7 processor is plenty fast for what I do and hasn't stressed out with tasks such as using Premier or Elements. The graphics performance is fine too, though I didn't buy this for gaming. The touchpad is great as well with my only complaint centering around Windows 10 drivers more than anything. Scrolling speed in Microsoft Edge is too slow, yet in Chrome or Firefox it is way too fast... its weird. It has PORTS!... something the XPS couldn't compete with. HDMI output and 3 USB ports, plus a microSD slot that conceals the card when installed. Ergonomics are great, whether in the laptop or tablet mode. The touchscreen is flawless so far and the entire package is light and compact enough to use it as a laptop if you wish. Windows 10 does a great job switching between the two. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Great, fast, lightweight laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried a Macbook Air for a couple of years, but decided to go back to Windows and Windows 10. This is a perfect replacement for my Macbook Air, and Windows 10 makes it now safe to return to Microsoft platforms. In many lightweight laptops the keyboard and mouse pad are weak -- that is not the case with this laptop -- both feel like high end devices and work flawlessly. The screen is beautiful. Samsung did a great job integrating a lot of high-end technology into this laptop.

Just enough to meet my requirements
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the machine I settled on and kept after giving up on the Lenovo Yoga 900s. There is so much I liked about that one, namely, the fact that 12 inches is the perfect size for an ultra portable laptop, especially the ultra-slim, featherweight chassis of the 900s. The Notebook 9 spin is quite slim, quite light, and very understated - but it doesn't really achieve anything special in any of those respects. I wish it had just a touch more sleekness and/or flare and personality, but it does the job. The screen is large with amazing resolution, and quite eye-popping - colors are vivid, though maybe a little too exciting for extended use. And the battery is awful - I mean, the machine works off battery for a few hours, but I absolutely never leave the charger more than inches from wherever I am, never stop looking at the battery gauge when I'm not plugged in, and in short, have severe battery anxiety. Again, it works, just not as well as other devices in this class or price range. The keyboard has short key travel - it clicks reassuringly, though you feel like your fingers are constantly crunching up against a barrier you should have known to anticipate - but is otherwise comfortably spaced. And I don't understand consumer-oriented machines that don't have at least a pause/play key for media, let alone track forward and track backward keys. Not only this, but the way Samsung has implemented the Fn function to use some keys as shortcuts is completely back-a s swards and just as frustrating as if they had not included those keys at all. (I mean using the Fn button to change volume or brightness - which can be made easier with a Fn Lock key, except then that changes other important keys, like changing the arrow keys permanently into Pg Up, Dn, Home, and End - so all of a sudden the rest of the keyboard experience is screwed up). Connectivity is good, but I'm disappointed there is not Thunderbolt II - and REALLY disappointed there isn't even USB-C. The HDMI port is far less valuable than either of those would have been. Otherwise, the 3 USB 3.0 ports satisfy my needs if not my dreams, and the micro-SD is perfectly adequate for me. Also, the power brick and connector is a little old skool and awkward compared to the niftiness of what Lenovo does with its Yoga family, but I can live with it. The power of the machine is great, although I would say just commensurate with its price, and I wish that for this money there was a little more hard drive storage. I have a feeling this device will prove highly durable in the long-term. Overall, I don't think the Samsung Notebook 9 spin achieves any one thing truly remarkably that its competitors don't do in one respect a little better (except the screen, which although maybe a little too brilliant is really just GORGEOUS for short-term use or watching truly great video/gazing at incredible images). However, what it does do versus its competitors is EVERYTHING fairly well (except the battery, which is inadequate for road warriors who spend all day being mobile). It is sleek, light, well-spec'd, with a comfortable keyboard and is tastefully, if conservatively, designed. It might not have some of the other strengths, but it simply has the fewest shortcomings, in my opinion, of all the machines in its class. And for those reasons, it is the ONLY machine to satisfy my crazy OCD needs. Recommended, with the above reservations about battery, keyboard, and boring aesthetic.

I highly recommend this laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been in search of a new laptop for several months now. I can finally say that I have found a winner in the Samsung Notebook 9 Spin. The laptop has a gorgeous, sharp, crystal clear screen with vivid colors, it is super fast, and it feels strong and sturdy. Yes, it is a "fingerprint magnet", but it's very easy to wipe them off. I really love the feel of the keyboard, and I rarely miss any keystrokes while typing. During my search for a new laptop (to replace my 7-year old Toshiba Satellite), I tried out a Dell Inspiron as well as an Apple Macbook Pro, and both were very nice machines. I compared the Macbook Pro side-by-side with the Samsung Notebook 9 Spin, and although they were very comparable, I found myself enjoying the Windows 10 experience more. I also found that the Macbook Pro frequently got "stuck" while I was surfing the web, and I have never experienced this problem with the Samsung laptop. I do admit that I have been a Windows user for many, many years (too long to remember), so it was a bit of an adjustment for me to try to switch to the Mac OS. Although I really loved the build quality of the Macbook Pro (especially the retina screen and the touchpad), I still enjoyed the Windows 10 experience on the Samsung Notebook 9 Spin more. As a side note, the touch screen and "spin" features of the laptop were not really a selling-point for me. I already own a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2" tablet, so I did not see the need for another touchscreen device. This is an added bonus of the laptop, though, as it is sometimes nice to be able to use touchscreen within Windows 10, and for panning, zooming, etc. I highly recommend the laptop to anyone searching. I realize Samsung has had a lot of negative press in the past year, but I own several Samsung products in my home (TV's, washer/dryer, tablets, cell phones), all of which are built with excellent quality and perform very well. Some have noted that the battery life is not great, but I have not had a very negative experience here. No, it does not last as long as the Macbook Pro, but I am able to get about 5-6 hours of battery life out of it. I generally work at my desk with the laptop plugged into an outlet, so this is not too much of an issue for me. For those who want a laptop with super long battery life, this is not the one. In summary, this is an awesome laptop, with an extra-sharp, vivid screen, solid build quality, and super fast processing. It also has very loud, full-sounding speakers. I compared it side-by-side with the Macbook Pro, and music on the Samsung laptop sounded fuller and less "tinny" in my opinion. I do feel that it's a bit overpriced for a laptop with 256 GB of storage. I purchased it during a "Samsung sale" that Best Buy had during the holiday season. During the sale, the laptop was $300 off, which made it more reasonably-priced.

Decided to try out this laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Husband did extended research to get me a laptop, after 1 week of researching he decided this was the best choice, we both loved it so much that he decided to give me his Apple and take the Samsung to work with him (only temperarly I hope, since I don't like Apple) This Samsung is so easy to use and very fast, also it is super light and very convenient to switch to a tablet, this is one of my favorite laptops I ever owned, will come in handy if I apply to grad school.

Great product, bad support from manufacturer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. My only complaint about this product is the battery could last longer (I average about 5 hours) but the beautiful display and form factor make up for that. Even worse than this though is the fact that Samsung has really terrible customer service and warranty repair policies. All warranty claims get sent to a disreputable company in texas who will do a questionable job and send back the product in worse shape than you send it to them. If you complain to Samsung about the bad service they will give you the information to contact said dubious repair outfit, who DOES NOT CARE about anything you say because Samsung already paid them and you are not their customer: Samsung is. So you will be given the option of sending away your laptop for an unknown amount of time to maybe have even more damage done to it with no hope of Samsung having your back because they have already pawned you off on the dubious repair shop in the first place. Get the warranty from Best Buy because they will at least stand behind their work and make things right for their customers.

Q: QuestionNOTE TAKING, SKETCHING, AND DRAWINGI am deciding between this Samsung laptop and Surface Pro 4 but I am leaning towards this Samsung laptop. Can this laptop let me take notes, sketch, and draw like Surface Pro 4? Does it have palm rejection?
Asked by TIM.
- A:Answer The Spin does not have an active digitizer like the Surface Pro and Spectre x360. That means it can only use the same type of stylus that you can use on an ipad/iphone, etc. No palm rejection.

Q: QuestionWith Samsung planning to sell off their PC division, are they still going to provide support for this device? That's my only concern holding me back from buying this.
Asked by anonymous.
- A:Answer Having RMA'ed this product once already and because of the work (or lack thereof) would have again, I can honestly say it was the worst customer service I have ever received for warranty work anywhere. Samsung contracts a questionable repair shop in texas to do all the repairs and they did more damage to my laptop than it had when I sent it out to them and then rubbed dirt on it. When I complained to Samsung they just gave me the contact info for the shop and closed the ticket. Well the shop didn't care if I was unhappy because Samsung had already paid them, so no resolution at all. If you're worried about warranty issues get the Best Buy warranty because I guarantee if you send your device out to be repaired where samsung uses you will wish you hadn't.

Q: QuestionBattery LifeHow is the battery life?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I've only had it for a couple of days but I've been getting a solid 6+ hours so far. But then again, it hasn't been on max brightness either. And I don't do much but check basic things and research online. Maybe average 3-4 tabs open on Chrome.

Q: QuestionWhat is the best 2 in 1 device on the market right now?I want to purchase a good 2 in 1 device, is this a good device to have? I have a Samsung note 5 that's why this laptop is catching my eyes. please give suggestions. this will be my first laptop purchase.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This laptop is perfect in every way if you're just using it for simple tasks such as Web browsing. The user experience and connectivity to my galaxy s6 edge plus was phenomenal. Only problem is if you use a higher intensive program, the battery life suffers drastically. Otherwise the laptop is perfect and I would rate it a 11/10 if it weren't for the battery life from my experience owning it. In case I didn't make it clear enough, it's connectivity user experience with galaxy phones is phenomenal and extremely user friendly and well designed.
