Great monitor with great features, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first used this monitor, I noticed that when I used a plain colored screen (most glaring in dark mode browser), there was a section on the right side that wasn't lit properly and it looked like a grid behind it. I ended up exchanging it for a new one and no problems with that one. Unfortunately, there is something about screen that bothers me but may not for others. Any time I look at a browser or something else with a scroll bar on the side, it looked as if the page was popping out past the scroll bar and gave it a weird 3D look. It most likely had something to do with the hard curve of the screen. May be fine for some people but it was hurting my eyes. The monitor has great features and I really wanted to like it but it was too much for me. Side note: the stand is actually very large and because of my desk being small and storing my laptop between my keyboard and monitor when not in use, it was not usable for me. Fine for larger desks or for ones with different laptop storage.

Great display but not a true curve
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought two of these as a Christmas present to myself :) and to save money from not purchasing the 49" CRG9 which would have cost considerably more. Assembly and setup was easy and the picture is awesome at 1440p. No stuck or dead pixels to date on either of mine. Overall I am pretty happy with my purchase but there is a huge con... I bought these to place side by side and chose these over the 49" CRG9 after reading a review that mention that monitor was not a true curve and straightened out approximately 10 inches on each side, being only curved in the middle. I am sad to report that these suffer from the same issue, though not as serious. These appear to be curved from end to end powered down, but when you are sitting in front of them and move a curved window from center to the edges, as you approach the edge within a 2-3 inches on each side the window straightens out. To be honest it isn't that bad until you move a window left or right across the point where the curve ends. At that point it becomes so noticeable you can't help but notice it. Luckily I seem to be able to work on them without shifting too much but I could see for gamers using two side by side this could be a huge distraction, especially moving from the curve on the right, to straight left edge, to straight right edge in the next monitor, back to a curve on the left monitor. Together you will have 4-6 inches of flat panel (2-3 inches per monitor edge where they meet), before the curvature begins to form again. I have a Samsung 65" Curved TV where this is not on issue, our it is just so large I do not notice it. On smaller monitors, this to me may be a necessary evil to curve the screen, but for me I would not buy these again nor could I recommend them for this one issue, and definitely not if you plan to use two side by side. Beautiful display at 1440 though! Pictures do not do the monitor justice as the display is great, but I tried to capture what I am describing in the corner photos. The 4/5 rating on quality is due to the straight edges only.

The 5 in G5 is for the 5 stars
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to move my battle station from 2 monitors to 3 and this was my number one option. The Samsung ticks a lot of my personal boxes, such as staying under 30 inches, coming in great for both gaming as well as minor content creation, without adding unnecessary RGB to the back like the G7. This is my first 144 Hertz monitor and it has been mind-blowing with how smooth games look. The jump from FHD to WQHD was also very noticeable, though the HDR may have helped with that. Overall, if you're looking for an affordable gaming and content monitor, I would recommend.

Good monitor BUT…
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Among others apparently the screen started to seperate from the frame after 1yr and 3 months. Outside of warranty OF COURSE and I called a rep they then said I would need to pay $219 for repairs from SAMSUNG. That is almost the amount I purchased it for. I would not recommend purchasing for those reasons.

Good but not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two of these for work and light gaming. The build feels a little cheap. Im not moving them around and once they're in place you dont really notice the build quality. What dives me a little nuts is ones about 1/4 inch taller than the other. So they dont line up. Not a big deal but I notice it. The curve is nice and they work great for the games i play.

Excellent 1440p performance!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ended up going with the G5 since the G7 was out of stock and i was not going to opt for open box and it definitely wasnt a mistake! This monitor may need some tweaks out of the box but when you get it where you want it, its amazing. The blacks are deep and crisp, response time is on point! Not a fan of HDR so it doesn't matter to me anyways. No dead pixels, packaged nicely, and has been running like a champ for the last 6 months now! Doesn't have speakers but is complemented nicely by these logitech 6W Z150 speakers which were only $20

Q: QuestionIf I were to downscale to 1080p, is it going to look a lot worse or just slightly worse than a native 1080p monitor?
Asked by MalakEbayuser.
- A:Answer It depends on your scaling option. If you scale it 1:1 and accept the smaller screen size with black borders it will look fine. If you fill the screen with the lower resolution, it will look like crap
