A: Not durable at all. The heat melts makes the plastic on bottom crack. Samsung is no help. DO NOT BUY!

A: I am not sure why Best Buy or Samsung has not responded to your question as I was wondering the same thing. Based on my comparison of the two, there seems to be two differences. The chef collection comes with a 22K dual-power burner and fingerprint resistant black matte finish. If you can live without these upgrades you can save $400. Hopefully Best Buy or Samsung will confirm my comments.
