Q: Protrusion?
A: 6.5 inches from wall to front of TV. Not too invasive. When there are limited places available to mount it is well worth the convenience of having it up off a TV stand/cabinet and the flexibility to move the TV and tilt it.
Q: Dimensions of wall mount for VMF-518
A: The part that actually attaches with 2 lag bolts to the stud is 3" wide by 8-1/4" tall. That's all that sits on the wall. There's a swing arm (triple-knuckled) that comes off from that that the tv hangs on. I've got a 48", very heavy tv on mine and couldn't be happier. Hope this helps.
Q: What is the best way to remove the TV from the wall mount for temporary use elsewhere?
A: There is a "tag' on the wall mount at the bottom that you "pull" and it unlocks the wall mount. Easy to attach and unattach the tv to the wall mount.
