Q: What's the life of the batteries?
A: Well, that's hard to answer at this point. That's because I've had mine installed since July and I haven't had to change the batteries since installation. So, right now, I'm at just under 5 months and counting.
Q: Can I unlock it remotely with my phone without using a code?
A: That depends on your proximity to the door. If you are right outside (i.e. in Bluetooth range), you can. However, in order to unlock it or lock it from, say your office, you will need the Schage Wi-Fi Adapter Model #BR400. It was released in Mid-July but Best Buy does not carry it yet. It runs about $70 and can be ordered from several other retailers. I've had mine since August and it works fantastically with the lock!
Q: Will this lock function with my AT&T Samsung S5 Android Phone.
A: As of July 15th, there is now an Android app allowing the lock to function with your Android phone.
A: It will now work with Android as well as Apple.
Q: Is this lock self locking if you forget to lock the door behind you?
A: You can set the Schlage Sense app to Auto Lock the door in a certain timeframe. However, I found this slightly problematic as the door doesn't know whether it's been opened or closed. If you opt to purchase the Wi-Fi adapter (Model #BR400) I mentioned in one of my other answers, you can lock it remotely from your Schlage Sense app wherever you are. Unfortunately, Best Buy still isn't selling the Wi-Fi adapter. It runs about $70 and can be ordered from several other retailers. I've had my Wi-Fi adapter since August and it works fantastically with the lock!
