Q: Is this easy to detach to use in rental cars? Thanks
A: Yes it is. But it doesn't have a strong enough magnet to use with a phone case.
Q: Will it work just as good with a phone case ??
A: Yes. I have on my otter case and it works fine. If it is not supported on the bottom, there is a tendency for it to slide down. I used both magnets to hold better.
