A: The ultra has encryption with password protection. Silly me....I thought they all would, so I bought the slim, only to learn that it cannot be password protected.
Q: I have mine plugged into pc and told pc to backup to this drive but I don't see anything happening?
A: That's what happened with me too, E-mailed Seagate & their answer makes clear they don't actually read their e-mails & merely send an automatic stock answer aimed at those who can't get it to connect to their PC rather thancan connect but doesn't backup. Very disappointed with Seagate so far.

A: My owners manual says that it comes formatted as exFAT so that it can be used with both Macs and Windows PCs, but it can be reformatted in your format of choice, such as NTSF or HFS+, etc
