The question about Hubs
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a hub but, that in itself is impossible tonset up. I have reset it a dozen times and says it still doesn’t find my phone…it did work at one time but stopped using it.That beingbsaid, the motion detector does work, the lights go on independently when your about 8 feet away. They stay on about 1.5-2 minutes. So I don’t really get it. Without thenhub, you can’t customize .

Connection issues and poor setup
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited about these and ended up buying four of them for two separate floodlight fixtures (front and back of the house). Also purchased was the Sengled hub. I found lots of confusing information, and lack thereof, on the requirements of a hub. First of all, this will not work with Echo or Alexa hub alone, you have to have a Sengled hub specifically. You may be able use a "Zigbee" type hub, but they don't recommend one and I could figure out what to get on that end. It really wasn't clear what to do there, but I can tell you that nothing worked until I got the $30 Sengled hub. Setup took numerous attempts over several frustrating days once I finally got the Sengled hub. After resetting them over and over again, suddenly the two in the back of the house showed up, and then after some more trial and error, the front two. Took a weekend for all of them to register. The lights are equally distanced from the hub, but I'm not sure the range so that may be an issue? They were randomly going offline although on standard dedicated switches that were always on. Now the front two have gone permanantly offline, though they were on and were working still. I removed them in the app (their suggestion), tried to reset, and re-add them, and they are again not showing up and now refuse to. The iOS app is pretty frustrating and complicated to use. I tried setting one light up at 30% dimming to light up some holiday decorations, and also to disable the motion. It didn't work, or at least the motion would still trigger the light on and off, even after turning it off in the app. Support and troubleshooting are minimal online, though I may try calling them next. Overall I'm surprised of the good reviews, I found these to be a great idea, but extremely half baked, buggy, and incredibly frustrating to use.

Good outside light
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to be light above my door that would activate with sensing motion. I also wanted to be able to control this as part of my smart home. The motion sensor aspect works pretty well, it comes on when we walk near it. I kind of wish the light was a little brighter but I'm ok with it. I don't have a Zigbee hub yet so I have to wait to see how it works with the Smart Home concept.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love these light. Have a motion light that i like to use a lot cause my back yard is super dark. But where the motion light sits floods my bedroom with light. so i bought these and have them on a sengled switch by my back door. so when i come inside and im done for the night my dog dosnt keep setting it off and waking my wife. light is bright and the color is perfect for a motion flood light.

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for front or rear door motion detection. Excellent energy saver since light will go on only when someone is at the door. It requires a HUB and a smartphone app to setup....(both from Sengled).......highly recommended...

Very nice...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things are great. They work without the hub which is nice. I went in thinking I’d need the hub but to my surprise they work just like a typical big box motion light only better. I do plan on adding some interior bulbs with the hub anyway but it was nice they worked without. Plan on getting a few of these for my 80 yr old mother since the typical motion detector I installed for her is hit or miss in regards to actually working. Excellent product!! Sengled has me as a repeat customer.

Q: QuestionWhat is needed to control away from home?
Asked by Tootie.
- A:Answer You need to set your on and off times before you leave your house. The motion spot light works all night long when there is activity and senses not to come in the daytime. The spot light stays on for about six minutes at a time until the next activity. You will need a hub to make them work.

Q: QuestionI returned this product bcz the outside of the box says "Hub REQUIRED" not online or I wouldn't have bought it. Purchase additional hardware to make a motion light work? Cant it Auto detect motion turn on, no motion Off? Simple. Why the Hub REQUIREMENTS?
Asked by makadoblack.
- A:Answer I use with Alexa without any problems.

Q: QuestionWhy is a Hub required?
Asked by makadoblack.
- A:Answer It is not required, unless you have the type of Sengled bulb that works through a hub. Sengled sells bulbs that connect directly over wi-fi only. These bulbs connect directly to your wireless network, and will not connect to a Sengled hub. The hub makes the Internet connection more efficient. Each bulb does not have to communicate to your network individually (which can result in bandwidth usage and traffic conflicts). Instead, when you send a command to turn off all of your bulbs, for example, the command is only sent once to the hub which in turn sends it to your network.

Q: QuestionWhat is the low temperature operating limit? This is Minnesota and there has been a problem with LED lights not working when it gets arctic cold. It was -35F in Cotton MN recently. -15F is not uncommon in Minneapolis. Incandescent bulbs work.
Asked by TriodeDude.
- A:Answer I live in Florida and even with really high temperature works. Unfortunately with hurricane winds stop working and you have to reset to make it work
