Great Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headset is great, microphone is really clear. You do need to be okay with being wired in to your source but otherwise a very good product.

Wow.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary at bottom for those who don’t like to read novels...... I would not consider myself an audiophile but when it comes to video games, the audio in certain games is just as important, if not more important, than the visual experience. I play a lot of FPS, I also love survival horror games. I’ve been gaming on PC for a year now, transitioning over from console life. When it came to audio, Ive had a surround sound system in my living room to heighten my experience the past few years. I owned a few headsets before I bought all that equipment however (Astros, Turtle Beach). But now gaming on a PC in my bedroom Ive been searching for the nearly identical experience of surround sound television gaming. My first pair of headsets were a wired set of Logitech G633s. Wasnt a terrible set, and I found it on sale and it was......alright. I wouldn’t recommend buying them but that’s just me My girlfriend saw me tweeting about SteelSeries Arctic 7s and decided to surprise me with a pair about a month after buying the Logitechs. It is a great set of headphones, and it gave me wireless freedom as an added bonus. I was happy with them. They were my everyday headset for nearly a year. They sound like a wired set. Then one day on youtube, i stumbled into the world of “pc audio headsets, gaming dacs, amps” etc etc. It got me thinking about how I do love my SteelSeries, but it is missing something sound wise I was craving for. I ended up seeing the Sennheiser GSX 1000 and it got my interest. I decided to go ahead and dive into it to see if I would like the upgrade. It was hard to choose between the GSP 500 or 600 because Ive never owned a pair of open back headphones. But after researching the differences between open back and closed back, I felt the open back would be close enough to the spacious, open airy, surround sound I was looking for in a headset that would close enough resemble my surround sound system in the living room. To be frank, Im glad i went with the combo. The gsx 1000 and gsp 500 are a match made in heaven. The 7.1 simulated surround sound is AMAZING, and the headphones sound is so beautiful. The highs, the mids, the lows. I don’t know the exact wordage used amongst audiophiles to describe each one but, highs and mids sound.....so natural, so crisp, nice oomph to them. The bass sounds tight, not boomy, and perfect for what i bought them for which is gaming. I honestly forget sometimes Im wearing a pair of headphones while gaming because the sounds so natural and spacey (i believe thats the word Im looking for here) The microphone......I am typically a “I leave my mic on mute when I game online unless playing with friends” type of person, so I havent used it often. Most reviews online pin this microphone as exceptional quality, I cannot really review the microphone because to be honest, I don’t care about the microphone, but it swivels up and down only. Push it up to mute, pull it down to activate it. People hear me crystal clear and that is all that matters to me. I also have not tried the headset alone without the gsx 1000 and i don’t intend to. Id honestly tell you if you’re going to be gaming on a PC and have the cash to do so, Id buy these headphones and the gsx 1000 to compliment these. Its the perfect combination. Are these headphones perfect? No, the fitting is not the most comfortable, and honestly, even with the external Sennheiser gsx 1000 amp/dac being used, I wish it was just a touch louder (most games are fine, some are not as loud as Id want them to be) Also being open back headphones, make sure you have a quiet gaming area to use these in. Sounds from outside the headset can creep into your gaming experience if you are in a noisy room. Also the sound leaks out of these, so you may disturb ppl around you while gaming. Minor things, nothing deal breaking, but keep it in mind if you have a s/o who might complain about the noise. Tl:dr Buy these but Id highly suggest buying the GSX 1000 to go along with these. I am highly satisfied with my purchase.

Most Comfortable Headset Ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these for my oldest son, and after trying them on I have to say that they are possibly the most comfortable headset ive tried, plenty of space for your ear inside the ear cup and a comfortable seal around your ear without touching it. Oh and the sound quality is as to be expected from Sennheiser.

I should have gone Sennheisers earlier!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old set up was the Logitech G633. I played a lot of FPS games, where sound was important. The surround sound the G633s had were good, but it was an uncomfortable headset. Once I swapped to the GSP 500 w/ GSX1000 amp. It was a night and day difference in clarity in sound, and comfort. The surround sound that the GSX1000 Amp gives is nice, and really lets the GSP500 shine to its true potential.

Excellent sound, fit may vary
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones sounded very good however my head could not adjust to the ear cups. I bought another headset that uses the same speakers but in a different pair from the same company and am very pleased.

Great headset for gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome open headset. Allows you to hear what is going on around you while also listening to the game. Very comfortable and you can cut off the mic by raising it. Volume control on the side of the earpad is super easy to use. Prefer it over the closed acoustics for gaming.

Amazing soundscape
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is perfect if you’re wanting to hear everything around you. In game and in the room allows for a very wide open soundscape. I use these for Xbox and have no issues.

Q: QuestionDoes the headset have a mute button ? For 6 years I’ve used Logitech gaming headset to record PPTs and conduct webinars. I liked the ability to mute headset when needed outside of the webinar options.
Asked by Presentations.
- A:Answer You can move the mic into it's upright position, then it mutes itself. I've been using a previous generation of this headset since 2012. It's great. Looking to get this one as a replacement as its age is starting to show.
