Q: does this surport a reg hd sony tv

A: Hi there, Yes, as long as it has the necessary connections. Kindly refer to pages 49-51 of this link for more information: https://docs.sony.com/release//HELP_4686529113.pdf ~Ralph

Q: plan on using this 7.1 system only as a 5.1, what speaker connections on the back of the receiver should I use for the rear speakers since I will have no side speakers?

A: I am using my receiver for a 5.1 configuration. as set up by best buy's geek squad, the set of speaker terminals that are not in use is labelled SURROUND BACK/HEIGHT. I hope this answers your question.

Q: can you get pandora?

A: Hi eric, No, apps can't be added on the receiver. ~Ralph

Q: I am not seeing two separate inputs for HDMI Video and Audio for UBP-X800 on this receiver? I see that the inputs are assignable, but I'm not really wanting to use optical for this player. Any advice would be welcome....

A: You do not need a separate audio with HDMI. The audio comes through HDMI. Two HDMI connections are on the back of the UBP-X800 so it can be used with older receivers that cannot pass 4K. You would then bypass the receiver for video. This receiver passes 4k so only one HDMI is needed.

Q: Can I use 6 of the SSCS3 Sony speaker towers as the front left and right, mid left and right, and rear left and right for my surround sound? And what speaker wire is recommended if so?

A: You can use multiple speakers for surround sound, as long as you don't exceed the max power rating. The manual shows several diagrams and speaker patterns. It suggests monaural audio cable and speaker cable, but doesn't list a specific speaker wire.

Q: Are the additional Zones 2&3 Usable via a HDMI input or are these limited to the analog inputs?

A: Hi Young, Zone 2 supports HDMI connection while Zone 3 only supports analog connection. You may refer to pages 87-92 of the link below for more information: https://docs.sony.com/release//Help_4686529112.pdf ~Ralph
