Fabulous IQ, not as sturdy as my M43 cameras

I moved to the A7 from an Olympus EM1 (and before that a Panasonic GH2), as I wanted the higher IQ and more flexible depth of field capabilities of the full frame sensor. I have been absolutely blown away by the image quality and output file flexibility of this camera since I got it last summer. Every time I go out and shoot, the results are exactly what I have been looking for in my gear for years. So, why am I only giving this four stars? Well, I am gentle with my gear, and yet I have already started having some hiccups with this camera. The C3 function button has become intermittent, requiring two presses before it will work. More importantly, the mount has loosened up since I got the camera, and now both native and adapted lenses wobble on it. This is especially pronounced with my LAEA4 adapter and my adapted Sony A-mount lenses, which wobble so much at the camera/adapter interface now that they occasionally lose contact with the body, and refuse to respond until I wiggle the adapter a bit. I have tried to contact their service people about the problems I am having (Precision Camera), but they are impossible to get a hold of, so I will probably just use this until it completely fails, and then send it in when I have no other option. I suspect that the newer version of this camera (A7II) has solved a lot of these problems, but it's bigger than the A7, and I really prefer the A7 form factor. I just wish they had put this model together a little bit better.

      Awesome Full Frame Mirrorless Camera

Purchased this camera about a month ago and am completely satisfied with it. I upgraded from the Sony a3000. I currently am using it with an APS-C lens not a full frame lens, but the quality of the photos is amazing. The wi-fi is an awesome feature to have as I can send photos straight to my phone and iPad. I can also use my iPad to control the camera. I am pleased with Sony and hope to purchase a full frame lens soon.

I have mostly shot in A-mount, hence E-mount was a little daunting due to the lack of mirrors and OVF. However, A7 is a pretty nifty and capable camera. I took it to a recent vacation in the Rockies and came away impressed with the capability of this camera. I love the various control knobs and options (coming from 5 series A-mount bodies) available on 7 series.

I bought this amazing camera about 3 weeks ago and I can honestly say this is what a camera should be. Granted with a good Zeiss lens and battery grip and flash Its quite a spend purchase. But I must say its worth every penny! I was waiting on Canon to upgrade to Full Frame but they seen to not be doing much so this 15 year Canon user just switched to Sony. I love LOVE LOVE this camera!

I shoot a lot of weddings, portraits, and events. This little guy can get the job done and some! It's an amazing camera, and more than capable for any job or any hobbyist who knows there way around a camera. Remember, it's all about the glass you put in front of your camera, sonny has some nice lenses and 3rd party lenses are just around the corner so don't let the lack of lenses scare you. I'm definitely gonna stick with the Sony lineup for a while!

I absolutely love this camera. I was kinda nervouse on making this purchase but it completely blew my mind. Never going back to a optical viewfinder again. I bought this last year and just purchased my A7ii with a Sony Zeiss. Sony is truly inovating the photography industry.
