Sony - Cyber-shot 12.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Pink

I already made four exchanges so far. First i started out buying cannon, the latest model. Canon takes awesome close-up pictures. I didnt' like canon cuz as clear as it takes, it also took very detailed face pictures. It would capture literally EVERYTHING on my face that's not even visible in normal eyes. It even captures one strand of hair very clearly. So then i exchanged to another canon camera with less megapixel. To be honest, i think all canon cameras takes just about same quality pictures regardless of their megapixels. so then i decided to go with sony. read good reviews about it. I exchanged to sony cybershot 12.1 megapix.. the one on sell for 169 or something like that. It was too bulky for me and i really didn't like the way it looked but the quality thi s camera brings was just awesome. Figured i would be happy with this camera only if its physical looks was just as good. Thought THIS camera (one i'm writing review about) would be the 'IT' camera. I just thought this would have the same quality pix as the other one took PLUS it wouldn't be too bulky either. I've been playing around with this since yesterday but i'm not that satisfied with its quality. Considering wat i paid, the quality should be just as good. but i donno. I'm really tired of making all the exchanges and i donno if i should decide based on looks or its quality. the battery life... honestly, i was so eager to use the camera, i never got to fully charge it. It takes FOREVER to be recharged and it has a VERY short battery life. That could be, again, because i never got to fully charge it. well there's my review on this camera. hope this helps. additional info: according to the reps i talked to in the store, they said sony camera will capture better night time pictures than canon. Battery life would be just about the same and canon will take better detailed senary and macro-pix but not a good "face" pic.

I have had this camera for a little over 2 weeks. I bought it specifically for a wedding I was attending and I loved the pictures it took. Great flash, and excellent pictures. Captured the dresses true to color, as they were an orange-pink color, and every one else has us looking like tangerines! I am unable to find a video feature, so I am assuming there isn't one. That's a major disappointment to me. Not enough to send it back, but still an annoyance. It takes excellent outdoor pictures, has a great feature that takes pictures continuously as the shutter button is pressed and held, which is great for taking pictures of babies or animals! :) Haven't taken it to the beach yet, but I'm sure it will be great. This is my second Sony Cybershot, and the first one was amazing. Only down side is this one has no video feature that I can find. Has a smile detector, which is great for those gentle smirks some people tend to give. Also has a blinked eye detector that alerts you if someone has blinked, even at a distance! :) Touch screen is great, and as long as you are gentle with it and don't treat it like a 5 year old would, it works great. It's sensitive enough to pick up a finger touch, which is not so great when you're trying to take a self portrait with a friend. But if you are aware of it, you can still snap a great shot. ***NOTE*** Photos were taken with THIS camera, but the individuals are looking away at the photographer's camera for the professional photos. No flash was used for these photos either!

I have taken crystal clear photos of fireworks as they are shot. After the tornado hit in memphis and knocked out power for days, I was able to takes amazingly clear photos in the dark. The video quality was so great , I was able to post movies on youtube . The most thrilling feature is the slide show feature. I was able to put my children on display with this excellent feature. it was even more amazing when I downloaded my favorite songs to the camera and turned my photo slide show into an international fashion show. This camera is soooooo worth the price. I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This camera is small and compact and so easy to use. The zoom feature and it's proximity to the picture taking button are wonderfully engineered for ease of zooming in and out. The option to take multiple shots in a row, is genius - I have small animals and with this I can always guarantee one perfect shot. I love the option of being able to add words and icons to my shots - it enables you to customize your pictures with your own sayings. I have had it for a few weeks and have not found 1 option that I am not thrilled with. Best of all - it is a great buy for your money!

My zoom stopped working after 29 days. I took it back to the store we bought it. Even though we were out of the 14 day exchange/return - they still honored the exchange!!! We did buy the extended coverage - I put my cameras through the paces - with that and the time frame the transaction was simple and painless - so my SHOUT OUT goes to BOTH THE CAMERA AND BEST BUY!!!!! The question would you recommend this item???? RECOMMEND? I have emailed it to everyone I know!!

Do not buy this camera and waste your money! We bought the first model of this when it first came out as a touch screen cybershot. I originally loved the touchscreen and the fact that it was so slim and handy. I paid the sale price of $479.00, then bought a memory card for it. We had it less then a week when becuase I was afraid it would get scratched or hurt, I went and bought a nice hard plastic case with a cushioned inside to keep it safe. We have never dropped it, left it in extreme temps, or taken it anywhere near moisture. The camera to this day looks as it did when we first bought it. My husband even bought a special cloth for the fingerprints on the touch screen. A few months ago the pictures we took started having a red halo around the outside of them. My husband thought maybe it was a setting issue and reset the camera and it stopped for a couple weeks. But now the camera takes 9 out of 10 pictures with a red hue an inch around the border of the picture. The detail is gone from the faces. I can't get any decent shots with it, and I called Sony for the repair. Sony says it is internal issue and they would attempt to fix it for $150 if I pay the shipping. If I do that, they will warranty the repair for a whopping 90 days. It is very upsetting to spend almost $500 dollars on a camera to record my kids childhood, for it to last barely a year. Especially when we babied it, and we justified spending that much on it, as something that would last us years. I called local camera shops and they tell me only Sony can do the repairs. My husband has a cheap Cannon Digital that is his work camera, that gets used and abused daily for the last year. It still works fine. At this point I have the choice of spending $150 dollars to repair mine and hope it lasts, or I can just go a buy a $100 Cannon like his work camera, and use that. Let me just tell to you.. Ill NEVER buy another Sony product. I am including a picture so that you can see the quality of a 500 hundred camera a year later. Notice the lovely red border and the lack of detail on picture.

I've been toting this camera for over 6 months now and love it's compact size. The start up time is quick, build quality is on par with Sony quality. The metal construction makes it durable and solid. Just don't ever drop it, or you feel the pain more than the damage of having a dented gadget. The touch screen is easy to navigate, but a finger print magnet. The only drawback of this camera is some of the quality of some pictures. Just like most sub-compact camera this is just one of those things you will have to live with. Picture quality is not consider bad, but if you are not careful with your shot, you may not get a good picture. Action shots, or shots that require large movement will be difficult to capture. If you want to have a handy camera on your daily travels in your gadget bag, this is what you want to carry. If you looking for something easy to pocket on vacation this is what you want. Be sure to not skimp on a large memory card and a durable case.
