Perfect Workout Headphones

I think this is the best set of headphones I've ever purchased. They are very light and the behind the head neckband coils in on itself so when your using it the little tension helps to keep the ear buds inside your ear while moving ( running, biking and so forth). I got tired of having to push other headphones back into my ear while riding because they constantly fell out or they moved enough I could no longer hear the music, I no longer have any issues of the sort. I was very impressed with the sound quality, I can turn the music up as high as I like and don't have any issue with the sound getting distorted. The only cons with it I have are the cord breaks into 2 2ft lengths, I guess with that way it's nicer if you have an armband ( can use just one portion and not have a bunch of extra cord) but I prefer to keep it in my pocket so once or twice I've snagged the cord and it got unplugged, though it does have a clip that helps keep it out of the way. Other than that the neckband does get a little tweaked after having it in pocket but it's easily to shape it back.
Overall these headphones are definitely worth the money and perfect for those who exercise a lot.

Decent Headphones

I purchased these around Christmas time, because my others had broke. When I started shopping for a new set, I wanted something that would fit behind my head and went around my ears. My last pair were "in the ear" and while they sounded fine, they always fell out during workouts.
I picked these Sony's up at the store after reading about many differen't ones. You can barely tell that you are wearing them. They are so light, which is nice, and they don't fall out of your ears while doing active things, at least not yet. The sound is very good. The only thing that I am not real thrilled about, is that I wish they had some kind of noise cancelling feature. You have to crank up your music to block out sound, which isn't bad if you like to jam. I would by these again.

Pefect for running with an arm band

Reading the comment from the other runner about the uselessness of the short cord, I'd have to disagree. That is actually what drove me to purchase this particular model. I use an arm band MP3 player when running and the cord on these never swings in my way. It is perfect when paired with this set up. I used to use bluetooth Motorola S9's, but they kept going bad from the acidity of the sweat. I had to go back to corded and have used these for the last 1.5 years. I have ran literally 1000's of miles with these and also used them nearly daily for weight lifting at the gym. They have been very durable.
As for sound quality, I've heard things within songs I didn't even know were there without them. Choosing the right silicone size ear piece is critical for getting the bass and clarity. They come with a few sizes, and one is sure to fit and provide the high quality sound these produces.

Works for me

I think headphones are a product which can be great for some and awful for others. These particular headphones are a Godsend for me because I have the kind of ears that reject most of the headphones that have been designed. These fit, and I can run my normal distance with them without having to worry about the weight of the cord pulling them out or them slipping out of my ears.
As for sound, I say buy for what you need. I use them for running or blocking out background noise at work. I am not really focusing on sound quality during either of those times. Honestly if I am running I don't care that I can isolate different parts of the music so long as it is clear and the volume can go up to a sufficient amount. Sony is dependable for sound and I think this product is more than satisfactory in that respect. my only issue with sound is that the connector which joins the cord to it's extension can get loose and you get the "under water" sound, which you fix by pushing the ends back together. I don't think this connector should even exist because without using the connection, the cord isn't long enough to do anything so you always have to use it.
Clearly these are meant for people who want to use them for exercise or other active endeavors, and I say it is worth a trial period if you haven't found good headphones for that purpose yet because for myself and several others, they have been exactly what is needed.

I Can't Believe It

I've been working out a lot doing cardio. I sweat and bounce and my OEM iPod earbuds just keep falling out. Plus the sound isn't that good because it shoots into my ear cartilage rather than down my ear canal. In addition, I can hear outside sounds way too well. If there's a core or spin class blasting music I can hardly hear mine. So I started looking into in ear, noise isolating earphones. I bought both the new Apple in ear, and the V-Moda Vibe II to compare. Hands down the Vibe II's won out. The sound was much richer, full bass as well as nice high and mid range, than Apple's. Of course, they were more expensive too, $120 v. $80. In about 5 days the control switch on the Vibe II's broke. I started looking at other earphones, like Shure, Etymotic, Klipsch, and even the Bose. The sales guy at Apple told me that for working out, the best earphones he had found were these Sony's. And, they're only $50. I thought, what the heck, I'll try them. I went to BB and shelled out the $50 and was quite sure they wouldn't sound very good, but if they stayed in my ear, great. Honestly, I could not, and cannot believe how good these sound. They absolutely kick butt on the Apple in ear, and, dare I say, rival the V-Moda Elite II's. The bass is rich, as well as the mid and high ranges. I am blown away that they sound this good. I had zero expectation that these would sound good, much less great. I couldn't be more pleased. They fit well, are water resistent, and sound awesome. I'd recommend these in a heart beat. WOW!

At your own risk

Headphones are a bit pricey and when you get into a decent stride and begin to sweat the headphones begins to fall out and you begin to concentrate on keeping the headphone on rather than exercising. If you can get a proper fit; the sound quality, depending on your player, can produce some deep base if you are into that. I use Pandora daily for my routines and you know what I mean about intermittent sound quality.
The comfort while in the ear is substantial but again, if you sweat you lose that after the 15th minute. I would not personally buy another pair of these and I would recommend that if you are willing to risk the $50+ to try it then maybe you should. It's all about the average size, guess I'm not there.

I am a drummer in a Contemporary Christian Praise Band. I needed a good set of headphones to use with my in ear monitor system. I have tried many different styles. The buds never stayed in for the amount of moving that I have to do. I found that most behind the neck headphones worked ok but, they are usually huge and cumbersome. I bought these and right out of the box, I liked the comfort of them. When I tried them while playing, I was totally sold. If these work for the activity that I do, they would be great for running or excercising. I would recommend these headphones for any kind of athletic activity.

The first reviewer stated it very well. What I would like to add is that you should play with the different sized ear-buds that come with the head phones. I found that the small's did not surround the ear-canal very well resulting in a hollow and thin sound. The medium sized buds worked better, but for me the large worked the best. Once dialed in, I found that bass response is excellent, and highs very good. Mid's were lacking a little, but nothing obtrusive.
Overall I would recommend this product at over twice the price.
A:AnswerWith a 2 foot cord w/ a removable extension and a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo mini jack connector, these headphones will fit most standard size mp3 player headphone jacks. The MDRAS50G headphones are perfect for the gym without falling out. listen to your favorite tunes through these behind-the-neck ear bud headphones that feature 9mm drivers and neodymium magnets for audio you can jam to and moisture guards for added protection against the elements.
