Q: Will this camera record like a video. I want to record a pool tournament.
A: Yes. It will record video footage as long as you have enough space for the entire length of your tournament. You can choose the settings to only record motion detection or you can choose to have it just record regular video.

Unfortunately, this can not automatically save motion detected videos to a local network drive. We currently do not have a wireless option that will fit your security scenario. Q: Can the camera use a bigger sd card? How long does a 16 sd card record?
A: I have 2 of this camera. On one, I have 128 GB Micro SD Card. On the other, I have 64 GB Card because it would not take 128 GB. So, I put 64 GB instead. 128 GB would record 14 days. 64 GB would record about 10 days. These 2 cameras I have are recording 24/7. There is no cloud recording.
Q: I need something to keep watch on basement flooding to catch it before it floods.

A: It requires Wi-Fi to work otherwise, it will not. I don't know if Swann have other products that do not require wifi but unfortunately this one does.
A: Try to use the light while scanning. It makes the QR code easier to read.
