A: Hello Albany. Thank you for pointing that out. These are magnetic sensors that work by detecting when a door or window is opened. When the magnetic connection between the sensor and receiver is disrupted, it triggers an alert. You can activate or deactivate the sensor remotely using the app for added convenience. A: Hi Cat3. This sensor itself will not make any noise, but it is designed to send a push notification alert to your phone when it gets triggered. These push notifications can be accompanied by a sound. Alternatively, Swann sell a plug in siren/chime unit (model code: SWIFI-ISIREN-GL) which this window-door sensor can be connected wirelessly to. By doing this, the chime unit will make a noise whenever the sensor gets triggered, and you have a choice of 4x sounds to pick from. There are no fees whatsoever to use either of these products, and we also sell a bundle with the siren, 2x Window Door Sensors and 2x Motion Sensors if interested (SWIFI-ALARMKITA-GL). -SD, Swann team
