    Synopsis

    Tale of Tales
This fantasy epic adapts three fairy tales by 17th century Neapolitan writer Giambattista Basile, each one focusing on the royalty in neighboring kingdoms. In one, a king (John C. Reilly) goes off to cut the heart out of a sea monster, which could be the key to curing his wife (Salma Hayek) of infertility; in another, a dim-witted ruler (Toby Jones) neglects his daughter's search for a husband as he becomes obsessed with a flea that grows to enormous size; in the last tale, an oversexed monarch (Vincent Cassel) is bewitched by an elderly woman with a beautiful singing voice. Directed by Matteo Garrone (Gomorrah). ~ Jack Rodgers, Rovi

i heard great reviews for this movie, but honestly i never pay attention to the reviews being that for movies we all have different taste....this is kind of dark fairy tale movie it tells the story of three characters looking for happiness i guess, sacrificing everything they have doing all they can in order to achieve it? but at the end i guess when is forced is not likely to last....i think it was dark and sweet compared to mostly fairy tale movies we are used to i would totally recommend this movie pretty entertaining, visually attractive good acting good editing good visuals......is worth your time and money if you decide to buy it

I didn't Know what to expect from this movie since I heard very little about it. The movie contains three Tales interspersed within the film. A very strange set of tales that include a Queen having to eat a creatures heart so she can give birth, A king who marries a Beautiful women who isn't what she seems, and a king who nurture's a flea and makes a terrible wager with his Daughter. The Blu ray Looks really great and sounds amazing too, as for the movie I was hoping for a bit more of something to these tales but still interesting.

The writers of these Tales were overly GRIMM. These are very twisted and nasty tales that have demented characters. If you love dark twisted , extreme stories you will adore this film. The special effects are well done and Selma Hayek and Toby Jones are amazing. I question why John C Reilly is in this for 3 minutes at most. The twin boys are quite beautiful in looks and actions. I highly recommend this as a sick flight into the darker fairy tales.

Three unrelated (but loosely connected by the end) fantasy stories are intercut as each one develops. The dark tales are enhanced by great locations, sets, costumes and visual effects and performed by an international cast. The video and audio are excellent. The bonus features include a trailer, TV spots and a nearly hour long documentary about the making of the film that is well worth watching.

Its been raining here every afternoon for the past month. So I sat down to watch this "Tale of Tales". I liked it, somewhere between Hans Christian Anderson and the Brothers Grimm. Fairytales based on ancient Far Eastern children's stories? You will just have to watch it and see for yourself. Spoiler Alert: The Butler Didn't do it this time. :o) Enjoy. :o)

This is what I choose to call a lavishly strange movie. We enjoyed it, even though the ending seemed abrupt because we failed to see the meanings, at the time, behind the lessons taught in these dark fairy tales. We'll definitely watch it again when it comes up in the rotation.

Selma Hyack, Vincent Cassal , Toby Jones , head the weird tales that occasionally criss cross . The three main plots are strange tales with stranger characters. Beautifully filmed with cinematic sets , views , etc. If you like the Brothers Grimm world , it's close.

For a movie with the title Tale of Tales. The storyline really wasn't that great. There were some good moments and visuals looked good, but it seems this movie didn't know exactly what it wanted to be. At the end I just felt something was missing and I wanted more.
