A: No, the case does not have hard plastic edges.

A: It's not magnetized but the iPad does shut off when you close it There is a strap to keep the cover closed

A: I don't think anything protects an iPad from a fall. However, depending on how you have the case, whether it is banded closed or not, will really determine its protection. It is a study, yet lightweight case. If the flap is closed and the strap on, it should be very well protected, edges included. The iPad sits within a harder plastic barrier to protect the edge. But if case is open, depending on how iPad lands, will determine screen damage. That is why I still put a Zagg HD Glass screen protector on mine.

A: Yes. I have tested an original iPad Air Wi-Fi (Apple Model A1474) in this case. The 2017 iPad 9.7" A1822 (wi-fi) and A1823 (wi-fi + cellular) also fit as we have this case on the A1823 model. The packaging states it will also fit an iPad Air 2 and the iPad Pro 9.7".

Great casual case
Ok it is not a heavy duty case like for construction or children. For a casual look and functionality it is really good. It protects your ipad with a nice cushion padding; the rubberized rotating insert that holds the ipad does a 360 degree turn and works as a stand. The way it is designed it directs the speaker sound to the user. It is sturdy enough to last a good while and keep your ipad protected. My daughter had a similar targus for her ipad mini and wanted the same for my ipad. It is a nice sleek not too bulky functional folio/case for an ipad. It should fit the 6th gen ipad, the package of the one I purchased had a sticker suggesting it did and it does fit like a glove. An elastic strap can secure the folio from opening keeping it protected inside luggage or backpack. I can highly recommend it and I am very happy with it.

Awesome Case!!! Buy it!!
I love this case. Fits my iPad Pro9.7 perfectly. It is very protective and has a strap to keep closed. Also has a place for the pen on the outside. It is adjuatable and can swivel. The price was excellent in online clearance. I highly recommend this to anyone who has an iPad Pro 9.7. Ive waited for years to find the right case after buting and returning several but now ive finally found it the perfect one. The Apple cover is junk and way too expensive. Do not buy it. i had to throw mine out because it looks so shabby after awhile. Get this one!

IPad Cover
Great protection. Keeps cover closed-so battery does not run down. Stands for watching movies, etc
