The fourth installment of the Terminator series follows an adult John Connor (played by Christian Bale) as he attempts to organize a human resistance force which could prove to be mankind's last true hope in the war against the machines. Opening in the year 2018, Terminator Salvation finds John Connor's certainty about the future shaken by the sudden appearance of a mysterious stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), whose last memory is of sitting on death row and awaiting execution. Unable to determine whether Marcus was sent from the future or rescued from the past, Connor begins to wonder whether there is still any hope left for the human race as the robots grow more powerful and aggressive than ever before. It appears that Skynet is preparing a devastating final attack designed to eliminate the human resistance once and for all, leaving Connor and Marcus with no choice but to strike back at the cybernetic heart of Skynet's operations. Once there, the two battle-scarred soldiers discover a devastating secret regarding the potential annihilation of all humankind. Anton Yelchin fills Michael Biehn's shoes as a young Kyle Reese in the first installment of a planned Terminator trilogy from director McG (Charlie's Angels).~Jason Buchanan
Salvation it's parte of the secuels story of John Connor in the future. It's bad the part of the Terminator fight with the hero it's not Arnold Swatsnager. It's a copy. Butcher the story, scenes, photografy, action it's great.
Just purchased this Blu-Ray from Best Buy today for the low price of $7.99 as of 04/12/2012, not sure if BB made a mistake on this purchase but it is worth checking into. This ad shows you get a digital copy, but mine came with both the Directors Cut & the Original Theatrical version which is a BB steal!
Anyways this movie is worth the purchase if you are into the series of films it has some really great action moments. They signed on some big names this time around with Christian Bale, Sam Worthington & Michael Ironside. The FX is tops, even if the script is only average.
This time around you are catapulted into the future world of the terminator where man is holding on by his nails, with the resistance finding a solution to the rogue machinery, sending their best into the field to fight the menace, John Conner, Humanities only hope. Throw in some side plots, a young Kyle Reese who has been captured by the terminators, now John must not only save humanity but must save himself by saving Reese, or John Conner will cease to exist in the future. Good solid Sci-Fi & definitely worthy of a BB purchase.
Video Looks clean & sharp a very good encoding. Audio is lively & makes good use of surrounds & LFE Bass is deep, this soundtrack will give your audio equipment a good workout!
If you can find this package with the dual Directors Cut, plus Original Theatrical version buy it quick!
P.S. I know their are two BB listings for this blu-ray but the other is not due out till June 2012, so I know I am on the right page :)
This review is from Terminator Salvation [WS] [Director's Cut] [2 Discs] [Blu-ray]
I would recommend this to a friend
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.
I enjoyed it, and was entertaining. The Blu-ray looks a little dark, and wish it had more color and pop.
Salvation gets a lot of flak but I enjoyed it,even more watching it now than I did then. It's a good movie with a good story and cast. It has deleted scenes and behind the scenes extras. 2 things I don't like about this BR: 1) The Director's Cut is on the Bonus Disc! The whole point in buying this, is to watch the DC. Sticking it on a bonus disc is kinda lame. 2) There is NO menu on this! After a few trailers, the movie starts playing automatically. if you want to watch something else, you have to bring up a pop up and select it, all while the movie is playing. It's horribly designed and stupid, I don't know what the company was thinking.
Movie-4 stars Disc-2 stars.
