I enjoy this with that nostalgic feeling….it’s a 50’s Drive-In Gem that is even better on Criterion
This review is from The Blob [Criterion Collection] [Blu-ray] [1958]

I like ordering movies from Best Buy. It’s convenient and easy to get.

"The Blob" was considered quite scary in 1958, but even then it was more fun than anything else. The plot is thin, the story line is predictable, the acting is average at best. However, there is a sense that Steve McQueen in the lead role was going to be heard from again, and his girlfriend--Anita Corseaut--had potential. Both would move on to bigger success--McQueen to Superstardom, and Corseaut to "The Andy Griffith Show". This is a movie that was never designed for awards or critical praise, and it is still the same today as in 1958. It is, most of all, a fun science fiction romp in small town America and a Coke and popcorn film to watch on Saturday night.
