Hands Down, One Of The Scariest Movies Of All Time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Any Horror Fan Must have this in their collection! I could barely watch it as a 14yr old kid and I can barely watch it as a 35 year old (stunningly handsome of course) old man! There is a decent handful of movies that wander that top 10 Horror movies of all time. And this is one of them. The reason is quite simple. Everyone, wether your black or white, Christian or Buddhist, Old or young, everyone believes in some "form" of religion. And some form of Evil. No matter what your beliefs are, I think one of the best things about The Exorcist is that its relate-able. Evil overcomes us all at some point or another. Some peoples heads spin and others sneak a smoke. Same difference. LOVE IT! And the additional stuff was well done.

Must have for fans!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an outstanding blu ray. Picture and sound quality are obviously great, but this version of the movie is a classic. The added scenes and sound make an amazing movie feel like brand new! What's even better is that the digital download is for the original, theatrical cut of the film, which is getting hard to find. Best of both worlds with one blu ray!

Holds Up Better Than Ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The blu-ray is the EXACT same as the WB digibook blu-ray release from about 2010 that is still available from Warner Bros. store but if you want to add the digital to your MA/Vudu account than buy this. Do know that during Black Friday timespan this year from Nov till the end of Dec. this steel book fluctuated in prices as low as 7.99 to 9.99 and 12.99 with the free holiday shipping BB does every year. Not much to say as most who are going to order the SteelBook already know this is a top 10 all time horror classic for most and still holds up amazingly 40 years later. This film was ahead of it's time, even the stainless steel sub zero refrigerator in the Georgetown kitchen was 30 years ahead of it's time.

HORROR AT ITS BEST
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist, the greatest trick The Exorcist ever pulled was convincing audiences he just might. Can any film that's risen in its wake say the same? It never ceases to amaze me that some thirty-seven years after its original theatrical release, horror filmmakers are still desperately chasing director William Friedkin and writer William Peter Blatty's legacy, each one failing to deliver a more startling depiction of evil incarnate. Many have tried. To their credit, a small but frightening handful have even brushed greatness. But while these scant few have chipped away at The Exorcist in one regard or another -- be it storytelling, special effects, atmosphere, shock value or any one of the elusive elements that transform a horror film into a horror classic -- it's tough to name a single standout from the last four decades that bests Friedkin and Blatty's macabre masterpiece on every front. Owen Roizman's deceptively simple, utterly haunting cinematography. Steve Boeddeker's unnerving score. The film's unexpected yet flawless casting. Jason Miller's raw but restrained performance. Sweet, little Linda Blair's mangled, unholy face. Ellen Burstyn's unhinged terror. Blatty's searing screenplay. Pazuzu and its ungodly mindgames. Friedkin's sharp eye and steady hand at the helm. Ten Academy Award nominations... make no mistake, The Exorcist may just be a perfect genre storm.

Do I Even Need to Say?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You already know all about this legendary film. Nothing like it out there and continues to be the best out there! Though many today who might be watching for the first time might not really appreciate it, It will always hold a special place to me. For the steelbook itself, its a very satisfying purchase. The cover looks amazing in the red and the artwork on the back and inside is chilling. I do wish it included the Theatrical version Blu-ray in another disc but I'll take what I can get. PLEASE NOTE: The digital copy included with the film is in fact the THEATRICAL VERSION. So no Digital Director's Cut. Some like that some don't. Overall I'd say its a must own in any collection; most definitely if you haven't picked this film up. Sound and Picture Quality are on par with the other Blu-ray releases.

It's still a great film after almost 50 years!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film came out in 1973, and it was and still is one of the most controversial films of all time. It was written by William Peter Blatty and directed by William Friedken( The French Connection). The film stars Ellen Burstyn, Max Von Sydow, Lee J. Cobb, and Jason Miller. It's the story of a young girl who becomes inhabited by a demon. The film goes from trying to find medical reasons for the young girls quickly changing behavior to full catholic Exorcism! I've owned this film on Laser Disk and DVD, watching it on Blu-ray Disk really makes it stand out! This is a shocking film almost from start to finish! Watch it if you dare.
