I would not recommend this movie unless you can not find a better quality disk. I will try to find a better quality disk. In the day scenes the picture is so bright that you can barley see whats going on especially when Moby Dick comes out since he's white you can barley see him because of the brightness. The movie is a silent version of Moby Dick but he only comes out twice. The movie centers more on the love triangle between a young Ahab, his step brother, and the woman they both love. It comes with a new musical score which I did not like sounds to modern wish they would have kept the original musical score.

Not watched the DVD yet, but am hoping it's better than the version I saw on YouTube. Moby Dick... But it isn't. Better than the speaking version of this rendition of the epic tale, but MANY differences between this and Melville's story. Love-triangle between Ahab, his half-brother, and a lovely lady named Elizabeth is more the main feature; "Call me..." Ishmael doesn't exist in this story; and Ahab wins. Okay for what it is but... If Melville wanted a romance story this would be it.
