Classic movie finally on Blu ray
If you're a big fan of director Michael Mann and you haven't seen this flick, you are missing out. Beautiful cinematography, great story, solid acting all around, ahead-of-its-time music, and some stylish action sequences. It's a great Mann flick featuring one of James Caan's best performances, don't miss out. Hard to beat an ending as great as this one

Terrific Experience
Absolutely amazing film, great atmosphere, music by tangerine dream, and a crisp 4k master on a 1080p disc. Although the package does lack a really cool booklet like most criterion releases

One of Mann's Best
Thief is Michael Mann's first film and, next to Heat, is one of his best. James Caan is great, the music by Tangerine Dream is fantastic, and it's a good crime story. Criterion really went the extra mile with this release as the picture looks fantastic and there's a good number of extras.
